I feel like i might have said it before but i wouldn't be opposed to something resembling an adaptation of the whole Rinon lore from Rinon's Adventure.

It would definitely require expanding on it a lot more, but i feel like it's a decent enough starting point and you could work that whole "dystopia saved by dance" or whatever angle they were going for into it without much trouble.

But i know i'm also being overly optimistic here, so...

The easiest way to tell when a new DDR game will be out is simple; KONAMI suddenly axing a whole lot of licenses. That's what happens with jubeat, GITADORA, and (once upon a time) REFLEC BEAT games are near the end of their run, and it happened just before DDR A hit non-Asian markets.

As for the DDR movie....don't care. I assume it will be something like Dance Revolution again, an in-name only live-action commercial. I'll be surprised if it actually involves DDR characters or even has songs from the series in it.

Last updated: 2018-11-11 06:06am
Hi all Big Grin
I posted a few custom backgrounds to songs for multiple simfiles in DDR A (AC BETA). They are top notch quality and have researched/worked extensively to ensure the best image quality. The following songs I've made banners and/or backgrounds for DDR A (AC BETA) are...

Shunpuu Blowing Wind
256 x 80 banner
640 x 480 background

ZEPHYRANTHES
640 x 480 background

ENDYMION
640 x 480 background

Vanquish The Ghost
640 x 480 background

I also have other custom backgrounds for official simfiles like esreveR, Snow Prism, and Heart Beat Formula (Vinyl Mix).
I was wondering if @al2k4 or any other mods would consider possibly updating the DDR A (AC) (BETA) simfiles with the custom backgrounds I posted?
Either way, feel free to check them all out Smile

I'd eat that like a sushi buffet. So would the Rinon fanboys, probably...
It would probably be too short on its own, but you throw in some of the other charcters who have had 0 screen time (and Yuni who's had... like 2 minutes), you have a lot to work with.

I think such a story would require an animation budget for its target audience, which is the main reason I'm lowering my hopes of the characters being involved at all. >_o

As for the odds of a documentary... they seem... not impossible? I'd be surprised they could keep a decent documentary under wraps. But with Our Memories it seems like they are interested fan input, so I'm like... maybe?

Here, in Spain, Konami also supported "La máquina de Bailar" movie, proving to be a tremendous failure, i mean plot was laughtable but enjoyable how bad it was. I don't know what will happen with this new DDR movie, i have very tiny hope but we'll see.

Ah... that was also sponsored by Konami? Whelp.

Surely, some people are gonna like whatever comes out of this movie, regardless.

Why, though? Wouldn't it be better to negotiate a better rate, or a perpetual rate, instead of removing licenses over time? I still miss some licenses from 5th and MAX2, although I can play them on with a bit of work.

Cause that never happens when renegotiating licensing, or in the initial licensing scheme, because of the licensor. It always results in the licensor demanding more money for the license, because then it's obvious that the song is making money for Konami, or is going to, and they want a larger piece of the pie then, after the initial contract. Plus, many licenses fall out of favor of the fans after their introduction in the relevant mix. The only reason beforehand with the early mixes a lot of the licenses stuck around, was that Konami was advertising for Toshiba EMI, for the Dancemania albums.

To me, honestly, the licenses are good for the mix they are presented on, and when the next mix comes around, I'm fine with them being removed, since they're not a relevant as when they first were shown. New songs released in the time from those deals, that have gain popularity, and Konami, as a business, wants to capitalize on that. Really the only licenses I'd like to see return are Beginning of the End, Eternus, and So Deep. Otherwise, I'm just playing the Konami originals.
*insert crap bemani joke here*

It's worth noting that most licenses usually made it to the next mix before it got removed, but since we've had Ace for 2 years, I wouldn't be surprised either if all the licenses got removed.

On the side, I don't know how Only my Railgun has survived as a license (I heard it was getting removed from GFDM or somewhere a few months ago but don't know what came out of it)

I have the same thoughts about Trust. It's literally the only SN 2 license left in the game.

Konami co-produced Gurren Lagann where Trust originated as a character song, so that probably has a lot to do with that song still being in the game. In fact, it's listed as a Konami Original on both DDR SN2 CS JP and DDR X CS US.

I Want You to Know and Wake me Up were good leave them alone. I think only my railgun is still in the game because fripside felt bad and thought the game was gonna die in 2014.

They could replace all the DDR A U.S. licenses with Despacito and that song alone would be a good ROI for casuals.

don't actually do it.

You're saying that like there isn't already a 99% chance Despacito will end up being one of the licenses in the next game.

Like, I'm not even memeing here, I think the chances of Despacito being one of the new Western licenses are very, very high.

but if it means Eon Break by Virtual Self ends up being one too then I am all for it

I play DDR 2010 regularly so my standards for licenses are pretty low. Just have slightly more dance-ability than I'm Yours and I'll be okay.
