It did feel easy for an 11 but it didn't feel like a 9. The latter half had quite a few 16/3 jumps which aren't typical in that level. I can see it being a 10, however.

I thought this does deserve its 13 rating, actually... It's easy to BS but the chart as a whole is pretty technical.

I feel that the difficulty was similar to 蒼い衝動 ～for EXTREME～, which is also rated a 9. They both contain a similar amount "16/3" jumps which you mention and are around the same BPM (恋のパズルマジック is actually 5 bpm slower). In fact, 蒼い衝動 ～for EXTREME～'s 16/3 jumps are much more difficult to execute because of its slightly awkward charting - you have to twist your body quickly to reach the the first of a set of a few 16/3 jump streams in that chart, unless you decide to bracket. 恋のパズルマジック's chart does not pose any situation like that for the player. And while 蒼い衝動 ～for EXTREME～ may not have the extremely short 12th notes section that 恋のパズルマジック has at note 275, it is certainly not as intense as DROP THE BOMB's short 12th note staircase stream ending, which is only rated a 10.

That is why I think 9 is a more fitting level.


And Sola isn't? Don't forget those 12th note jacks at the end. Sure, maybe Strawberry Chu♡Chu♡ has those short 16th note streams. But Moonster also contains similar patterns that are an extension of that (at nearly the same BPM). Blind Justice ~Torn souls, Hurt Faiths~ doesn't shy away from difficult streams and crossover patterns, either. 12's deserve more credit. Strawberry Chu♡Chu♡ definitely isn't at the level of Monkey Business ESP or Dirty Digital CSP (and certainly not Electric Dance System Music ESP, but that song is heavily underrated, so maybe that's an unfair comparison. Anyway, I believe my point stands).

Both songs are meh.
The charts should have a lower rating of 1 each. Nothing really that technical in them.

This is a good argument. While I would personally claim that 蒼い衝動 ～for EXTREME～ and STARS☆☆☆ (Re-tuned by HΛL) - DDR EDITION - on S- are underrated, you make a valid point regardless. Let's make all of these 10s and we're good.

Fair enough. I like that you bring up sola here, since that's a song with a chart that has very similar tendencies to this. The main reason I think Strawberry Chu♡Chu♡ could stand as a 13 is that while the level 12 charts you mentioned are typically as hard as this in a few selected parts and are otherwise much gentler than a typical 12 elsewhere, my impression of Strawberry Chu♡Chu♡ was that it has the tough parts in level 12 spanning almost the entire chart, with high degrees of variety (Afronova walks leading to gallops, jump streams, short 16th bursts, rhythm challenge, etc.). I wouldn't personally mind it being re-rated to a 12 at any point, but I guess it didn't stand out to me as "this is most obviously misrated".

The songs... Damn they're flat.

I'm still wondering why DDR isn't getting more IIDX/Jubeat/SDVX crossovers.

Because people complain about there being too many idol songs and that they want more crossovers.

And then people complain about there being too many crossovers and that they want more in-house originals.

And then they only put good in-house originals in events, and nobody wins.

恋のパズルマジック sounds good but is so easy to be a ex.11, I hope the "idol fever" calm down and finally we can habe good crossovers with IIDX, SDVX and MÚSECA but when have crossover all the wold change her mind wanted more originals

idol songs have always been prevelant in DDR, ever since BeForU came in 5th Mix, though BeForU are more well-reputated especially since NAOKI did the composition for all of their songs.
