In my opinion DDR improved a lot since last version. DDR A has good songs and not many songs kind of Miku or Hinabita.
About american songs, now they were good choice, they are not slow and has a good rhythm.
Until now, idk why konami don't add korean songs.

ddr is still mostly catered to a japanese audinece, even with the game being releaded in the US, they're still adding and making choices based on what japan likes and how often they pkay

As for Be a hero, I'm right now meh for new songs, I'm focusing a bit on other things, but things been going on at discord about how terrible Konami's been going for the KAC. Idk if it's okay to talk about KAC for DDR A in this post but yeah, Konami's going downhill very quickly.

nah the primary audience is Japanese (and I guess American), so you'd expect more j-pop and maybe the occasional Zedd song
