"five minute white boy challenge"
Quote: rayword45
Actually, me knowing I'm an asshole does, in fact, mean I know what an asshole looks like, providing some validity.

And dude, read my post again. I care less about you being an asshole, besides the first "stop" post, than the fact that you really don't seem to be able to tell how much of an asshole you are. Wear it loud and proud, because when you don't use the power of self-awareness, it just looks gross. LMFAO at the "you can't handle blahblahblah" thing, considering how utterly defensive you are at the very notion of you acting like an asshole.

And a quarter of the posts? Sure thing man.

Here's another hint: When people tell me I'm acting like an asshole, and I'm not deliberately trying to act like an asshole (which, based on your responses, I assume you aren't), I don't get defensive. I self-reflect. It's a great tool.

The hilarious thing is the biggest paragraph of this post is just you saying "you're an asshole" over and over and trying to pad it out to make you seem right

Then have you self-reflected now yet?

Seriously, it's time to stop adding fuel to the fire: The drama had died down until you jumped in to continue it. :/

I'll admit my mistake of starting off as harsh as "dude, stop acting like an asshole" without giving you better context at least. Now, I'm willing to stop, simply because dude, stop getting so heated. I said specifically, again, I'm not "even calling you an actual asshole"

Yeah this is fair and another mistake I made, but hey, the posts I read earlier made me go off the way I did.

Like I said, I admit my initial posts weren't constructive, and I should've used actual constructive feedback then (my fucking bad), but the "stop getting heated" still stands. This is the internet.

...I said "My bad". That means sorry. Jesus. My later posts I attempted to incorporate some "constructive feedback" so to speak, but that's not relevant when I should've started with it.

And yes, I'm not trying to be all "U MAD BRO?" but it's the internet. There are far more important things to direct your passion to. You threw shit back at me and while yes, I did act like an asshole, I'm not caps spamming.

"Sleep cancelled due to COVID-19."
Plus, seeing 22 new posts in this thread makes me excited because usually numbers like that mean a new update - not just a bunch of lame community drama.

Cut it out.

This thread has been a fucking mess and I'm sorry to say that I don't blame it...entirely. Konami chooses to dick ride this entire event for a half-a-year with nothing else and you expect people to not act moronic about it all? I'm not saying that I support this, but it's very telling how unstable this community is getting from this because Konami...once again...doesn't give a fuck.

Doesn't help with the cherry on top being the Bemani artists debacle that might still be going on. But seriously...it's frustrating coming back to this sort of topic after recalling another scenario where Konami refused to support the previous DDR release this same exact way. I don't know what brain came up with the idea of holding off on support for this long, because it defeats the entire purpose of the game being linked online when there's hardly anything else to gain from the game outside of Leaderboard status. And I recall Yu-Gi-Oh! having this same issue multiple times when they chose to update the ban list whenever they felt like it. The game would just get stale competitively for months and months, but they refused to acknowledge the problem of the game's balance and update the ban list.

Outside of that, I don't know what else can be said. I don't condone this level of drama, but it doesn't change the fact that Konami needs to update the fucking game already. I can imagine that we can all mostly agree with that, but that's subject for debate in a way that is ACTUALLY constructive!

yeah I was hoping ddr a wouldn't go the way ddr 2014 did but....
it seems even with u1 in charge, ddr is still inactive. I am honestly sick of Konami sucking off IIDX/SDVX and
neglecting DDR, occasionally giving a song that's either great, or just forgettable, the latter being most of the time.
I don't even know why Konami treats a series like DDR like this even, especially since this is the first international release since X2. I know this the end of the lifecycle of DDR, and we might get a update soon, but it's been so long since RA 3 has started. It feels like they're just padding out this event so we won't get anything else (besides the vocaloid/toho songs) Meanwhile, IIDX is getting a new game in December, a couple of months after the final OMES has been added. Look at how long EXTRA SAVIOR took to get it's final unlocking event. Feburary to June. AND it's been almost 2 years since DDR A has been released, and we only have 80 songs. DDR 2014 had 94, and that lasted even less than DDR A will be. I hope Konami takes a fucking hint, and remain proactive for DDR as they are for IIDX/SDVX. Maybe not as much just to save money (heh), but make better ways to make money than make a grinding event and sit on the game. anyways I go on and on, but I need to get to sleep so....end of rant for now.

I'm fairly sure anyone who's half-decent at creating charts will TELL YOU that Candy's chart is awful. I'm so sorry for breaking your illusion and saying "hey this chart isn't good".

And you going "STOP ACTING LIKE AN ASSHOLE" in a response to a post generally makes me think you're responding to THAT POST, not a post from a fucking month ago. Saying "I have several examples" is not presenting several examples.

You're honestly the person who's acting like the asshole right now and I sincerely suggest you stop.

I know I came as of late, but seeing things as they are, I don't honestly think this drama should have started. I know Quickman hates me because my opinions tend to differ from him and some of my posts may seem condescendent while I don't hold such a feeling when I posted it, which pretty much started out this drama. Then came the other posts saying that Quickman was an asshole, but I honestly consider that despite he acted with such a heavy temper, I think both involved have been acting like an idiot to each other to defend themselves. What I've underlined is pretty much the most relevant in terms to the "asshole" topic, because you can't insult anyone whose opinion differs, even less call them an indecent person. Maybe they look at DDR differently, or like to freestyle a lot. I personally like CandySTAR Heavy because it's very freestylable like some old and new songs, so that means that I'm an indecent person (like I always was) to him. I honestly don't know if this already moved to PMs, but I'd like an invite over to the PM to see how can I sort the quarrel out in the little time that I can be online. Either way, this drama is extremely unneccessary, especially over this which is opinion based. This so far showed disrespect of other people's opinions.

Now, to change the topic...

I know I shouldn't quote the last post, but I did it to avoid confusion.

I know, right? DDR right now has been in a decline after 2013, and although some songs are spectacular, Konami really has to pay attention to DDR as much as they do to IIDX and Sound Voltex like you've said, and the fact that they changed the theme to an Sound Voltex styled version of DDR A shows that Konami's lacking creativity. The theme that they used for DDR X3 was perfect; it had a balance of everything and maintained the essence of DDR, mixing the new DDR with the old-fashioned one. They should do another one, IMO, I do want to see more remixes of old songs and see 2nd mix club version have some good songs returning to DDR, like Gentle Stress, Deep In You, and Deep Clear Eyes, and Rugged Ash, for example. What they did with Come to Life gave the game of DDR a chance to turn some new leaves, but at the pattern they're going, they're not hitting up many bosses, and most songs made by TAG, U1, and Sota F. tend to exploit 1 instrument, and it's beginning to get old. We need more songs using instruments like in Tsugaru, Dead End, DXY, and many songs from old mixes. Either way, I'd give a random number: a 47% chance of getting a new generation, especially with how tanked out DDR A right now is. DDR X3 (since Puerto Rico doesn't have anything further from DDR SN2, and even SN2 is unbalanced) vs 2nd would be what I consider a great balance. Making goods not break combos took out one of the things that make DDR fun on Extra Stage, making a PFC attack was great, but maybe it should be a bit more merciful. They made DDR too beginner friendly, and to be honest, I don't think that the grade changes were necessary. It was easy to learn at expert so it didn't cause much confusion. There's quite a lot of things in DDR between X3 and DDR A that I do not agree and some that I do agree with.

Personally, I hope DDR lasts for another 10 years with at least some audience so I can try to give it a different direction, with a cross-company partnership with Konami and Bemani. It's be nice to do something like DDR Superstar IV vs DDR Challenge Series and the such, I have a lot of ideas for it.

I hope this post isn't badly made, since I'm very talkative and have a lot to talk about the current state of DDR. It's not dead, but it is getting killed (not dying) by Konami.
