So, slightly off-topic question: suppose I decide to finally go play DDR A a few odd months or so from now, how much content will be locked, provided I get my own eAmuse card?

The 熱闘!BEMANIスタジアム songs for DDR are 14:
* Stella Sinistra
* マインド・ゲーム
* PUNISHER
* HYENA
* True Blue
* 恋はどう?モロ◎波動OK☆方程式!!
* デッドボヲルdeホームラン
* Squeeze
* 野球の遊び方 そしてその歴史 ~決定版~
* 轟け!恋のビーンボール!!
* Engraved Mark
* VEGA
* Daily Lunch Special
* IX

However, the 発見!よみがえったBEMANI遺跡 songs are 9 in total (the six listed there plus the 3 which were unlockable for all the participant games: Cleopatrysm, 御千手メディテーション, and KHAMEN BREAK). EXTRA SAVIOR songs are currently 4 (S!ck is still not unlockable). The BEMANI SUMMER songs are indeed 6:

* In The Breeze
* Sakura Mirage
* 天空の華
* 8000000
* パ→ピ→プ→Yeah!
* 夏色DIARY -DDR mix-

So currently there are 40 unlockable songs via EXTRA SAVIOR.
Here's a post from a couple weeks ago

A few months from now, there's bound to be new stuff that is unlockable so the number will be reasonably greater than 40.
In regards to the songs with charts that are going to be fixed, three of them have misquantized notes. In one section in two of them, 突撃!ガラスのニーソ姫! and ロストワンの号哭, there are evenly spaced 12ths in the place of what should be 4th-16th-8th-4th-16th-8th patterns. SHION has the opposite problem: it should have 12ths instead of 4th-16th-8th- patterns
For the last one (天ノ弱 / 164), I think they're going to remove that note that is at the very beginning. It probably wasn't supposed to be there in the first place.

260 BPM is a really awkward range that could make for an easy-to-ruin chart.
260 BPM is a specific number, not a range. Also, could you elaborate on what you meant by this?

NGO. Yes, that was SN2, but it's an accurate summary of everything I hate at that range.

Elaborating more, 250-280 (125-140) BPM is around the range where having jumps in 8th (16th) note streams are complete BS yet step chart makers seem to think it's perfectly acceptable (see: NGO, though the last part of TokyoEVOLVED ver. C counts, and one of OsakaEVOLVED's variations started doing this). Also, it's slow enough that it's easy to think "eh, we can make players double-step" even though double-stepping at this speed is awkward sometimes (see: NGO again, Pluto, and I think OsakaEVOLVED again).

Also, streams are slow enough that it's really easy to misrate charts (Samurai Shogun vs. Master Ninja and EDSM, 14 and 13 respectively, should probably be 15 and 14, PARANOiA Survivor was originally 14 before being re-rated to 15).

Then again, it might not actually be a boss-like song (as in it might just be 14 or easier), especially since there's not a terrible amount of correlation between ratings for a song in Beatmania IIDX and ratings for the same song in DDR (except for 12, that usually goes to 18).

Respect after that.

Anyway hyped as hell to see what they do with this chart.
I really enjoyed your Challenge-chart of Illegal Function Call. It makes for a great warmup before playing any of the keyboard files in Stepmania. Keep up the great work.

So to rephrase, what you're really saying is it's not that 260 BPM is horribly awkward per se, but that you would prefer chart makers to avoid forcing a 16+ difficulty level on a song at such speed. I can agree. I really enjoy Euphoria [ITG] on D-Challenge but the S-Challenge is not quite my idea of fun.

In 2 months our cab (DnB Westchester, CA) had/has some problems. We already replaced the HDD after 3 weeks. And now....I'm not seeing this (cab) lasting too long
Devil

Edit: sorry for the Cell Phone vid. NOTE: back of the cab is open and this is still happening.

Our (houston) machine had similar problems before it just crashed.
We just reported it to the tech guy and they ordered a new PC for the machine and now it works great
What the hell does U1 smoke to come up with EGOISM 440?

Speaking of the new addition in DDR, it seems this is gonna be a new arrangement of the original Illegal Function Call (they play it on the recent BENama, and is a lot different from the original).

Just listened to it, not as good as the original tbh
Doesn't feel as chaotic or frenetic.

Yikes; I'm morbidly curious to see if the local DDR A cab still holding up or having similar problems. Sad

I have a suspicion that the crashes/lag is (at least) partly because the Windows XP embed (which is 15 years old at this point ) is starting to show its age, and is starting to not be as stable with the more advanced software?

I don't recall any of the other non-Bemani music games using Windows XP as a base anymore, and they haven't had to deal with these kinds of problems as much, but I could be wrong.

I mean why not upgrade the hardware to Windows 10 instead?

It's 130-260, and that pattern does not look fun at 260 so I'm assuming it's 130.
