What is a "normal" reply?

Whenever I want to join a discussion, everyone says that I've bumped a thread.
But I marked some of my comments as BUMP, but I don't even see any difference.
So my user rating is as low as ****, and I don't even know what to do.
Because of that, when I want to say something, I always worry about someone saying that I'm bumping a thread,
so, I keep trying to resist the temptation to reply.

Can someone help me? I've been really sad on ZIV already.

Some people will bump a thread that's years old with a post that doesn't add to the conversion and that pisses people off. However I have seen a few cases where the bump is justifiable but people will still vote down someone for it regardless.

Also a rating of -1.5 is not very low. It's best not to worry or comment about having a low rating. It's just asking for people to make it lower. Just don't make stupid posts and if you are going to bump a thread, make sure it's a post that adds to the thread. Do that and you should be fine.

A "Bad Bump" depends on the member. Someone might think a 4 month bump is fine as another member won't. Personally I think the comment was a justified one so I don't see why there's such a commotion about it. I would not let little things like this get you down in the long run.

Now if it was a 4 month old bump and the comment was just a "That's cool!" or something like that, then yeah that's annoying.

Well they have been around for a long time and they have contributed oh so much. And I agree with Pande.

If you don't have something really useful to contribute after like, a year has passed without the thread getting replies, don't post it...

It's like, posting "Sorry, I didn't mean to bump" 2 years after you made a 1 year bump (to the point no one remembers) is contradictory.

P.S: Just so you know, I don't have anything personal against you. And I will also say Tikal over-reacted on that 5.4 month bump that actually sorta added to the conversation.

Objection, I kinda want to strangle most of you and look at that little number on the left there!
