Eclale had 30 brand-new original song on the first day release though...

specifically created for the game
I counted eight that weren't licenses/crossovers/contest songs. I'll admit the contest songs are better than most of the in-house/commissioned songs, though.
UPDATE: On a different note, Konami confirmed today that Geocentrism will finally come out next week, as will Aru ga mama ni from the BEMANI FES ROCK thing they have going on this summer. Pretty excited for the former.

YEAH!! I'm excited for both songs but especially Geocentrism too! Hey, does anyone else but me think its character, "Amulet", could be related to Poet?

Amulet does remind me of Poet, too. Maybe he's her brother?

Events and contests are nice once in a while, but that's what most of eclale has literally been so far. In the past eight months since its release, there has only been 23 brand-new songs specifically created for the game. In comparison, Lapistoria had 20 brand-new originals on its very first day of launch.
To be fair, I didn't care for any of those.
Lapistoria is still the ultimate cr@pper of the series to me

Lapistoria was just...sigh.

I don't know if any Pop'n Music games take North American eAmuse cards...
Anyway, I am loving Judy's new look and song! I also think ON-DO could have its crossover into DDR soon!

AFAIK There's not really such thing as "North American" eAMUSE cards as the new ones were released in Asia too. They should work on any pop'n music that's either running 14 FEVER or newer like any other NFC eAMUSE card, but it has to be running eAMUSEMENT which I don't think there are any outside of Asia at the moment.Post #152 · Posted at 2016-08-25 06:59:40am 7.7 years ago

GO-ON sounds pretty good. Not really feeling Stories, though.
Didn't pop'n music use its own sort of cards before FEVER! ?

IIDX and PopN both used a different type of card before 2006 (there were entry cards included with the first run of both 8th Style and 10th Style that are this type). DistorteD and Fever were the games in each series that switched to the current NFC cards.

If you see NETWORK OFF or NETWORK ERROR (latter unlikely), then the machine isn't connected to the e-Amuse network, and thus will ignore the cards. I suspect e-Amuse support has been retired for all games except the current ones, as there's not really a reason to maintain support for older games (there is probably a transition period of about a month or so when a new game comes out). PopN is the only Bemani game at Round1 that's not connected to the network these days (I suspect that they couldn't get Konami to let them use the more recent versions that require network connections, I remember seeing a tweet from them that implied that getting Museca over here required quite a bit of effort). Assuming that the Round1s with older DDRs got rid of them when A came out, that is.Post #154 · Posted at 2016-08-25 05:03:16pm 7.7 years ago

Actually, all BEMANI games released between 2002/2003 and 2005 used magnetic strip passes, not just IIDX and pop'n (I know it's kinda nit-picky, but I thought it was worth adding).Quote: Thunderbird

Actually, I believe eAMUSE still runs on older games, but I honestly can't confirm this since there aren't any machines that I know of that are running older games and eAMUSE (although I'd imagine that it wouldn't be that much of a problem to have older games still running on eAMUSE as they wouldn't have to regularly update them or anything like that). The reason pop'n (and jubeat, which is at a whopping 1 Round1 locations) isn't connected to eAMUSE is because they only do it if they see a high enough demand. Mind you, getting a game running on eAMUSE would require them to get the latest version, which could be difficult hence why they'd only do it if there's a high enough demand (it also doesn't help that they'd most likely have to update every pop'n machine they have, and IIRC there's quite a few of them). Now that said, based on what I've heard, pop'n isn't actually as popular as you'd think (compared to other rhythm games, of course), and that it'd be more likely for jubeat or other non-BEMANI rhythm games (namely CHUNITHM and maimai) to end up in Round1 locations before pop'n (although this information could easily be out-of-date).

Not true, once a new game is released, the eAMUSE support for the previous game was dropped.Post #156 · Posted at 2016-08-25 11:46:10pm 7.7 years ago

Pop'n music just isn't as popular as it used to be. Only one machine left in HK (with E-Amu service)

Not true, once a new game is released, the eAMUSE support for the previous game was dropped.Games that only have online updates (Museca, DDR, Sound Voltex among others) probably drop the old versions immediately, since all network connected machines would be instantly upgraded. Though that might not apply for DDR outside of Asia (though it'll be awhile before there's a new version of that, since A isn't all that old).
But yeah, expecting really old games to still have network support? That was probably only possible back in the days of PW. All of the older games have licenses that have no doubt expired by now (except probably the most recently retired versions of each game), so Konami probably can't have network support for legal reasons.

Yeah the whole eAMUSE support drop isn't inmediate, AFAIK it takes some weeks or a month (KONAMI announces the day on the respective game's homepage.) But the support is indeed dropped (in the case of PENDUAL, December 17th was its last day with eAMUSE).

Tomorrow's BENama wil be about Pop'n music with PON announcing something interesting, so cross your fingers for some good news like a bunch of KO or a brand new game a la Reflec beat (you know, doing all from scratch)
