I can see why. Maybe the artists of the songs might not want their songs to be on the soundtrack, but who knows? After all, the CocoNatsu CD had all the songs from the "Everyone can produce for CocoNatsu!" contest on it...

Why all those songs wouldnt be on the soundtrack? All the songs in the previous contest appeared in a ost (southern cross & Like a pop'n music). Also... it would be a very short OST if the contest songs aren't included...

Yay, new long Butapunch as well!

Apparently there was a character creator contest just recently held, and with it comes 3 new characters who will be appearing soon in éclale! http://p.eagate.573.jp/game/popn/creators/event/chara/01/index.html

They are named Meteor, Melissa, and Loof. So far, the only one whose song we know is Meteor - it's called "MADSPEED". But, we also know that Melissa will be getting a song by DJ TOTTO and Loof will be getting one by PON. I can barely wait to hear all their songs when they come out!

6/1/16: The titles for Melissa's song and Loof's song have been revealed! Melissa's is called "INHERITANCE of WILL" and Loof's is called "Fate No. 23"! Videos of them to come tomorrow~

Of all the missed opportunities...this is one of the biggest "WHY, KONMAI?!" moments I've ever had.

So, Pop'n and BeaSt are having a crossover event, and these BeatStream songs are coming to Pop'n:
CHERNOBOG
アキネイション
パ→ピ→プ→Yeah!

My first thought when I saw this list was, "WHERE'S キミとワタシのオンガク???" Now, in my eyes, this song has a big reason why it would've been better to cross over to Pop'n than the others, and it's not just because Alt is amazing.
The video to this song has one of Alt's Pop'n Music sprites in it!
It astounds me how it isn't one of the crossovers, and I thought it was going to get ported to Pop'n for sure because it HAS A POP'N CHARACTER IN ITS VIDEO.
I'll end this on an optimistic note: at least I can wonder until tomorrow as to which characters the songs will have, and maybe キミとワタシのオンガク will get crossed over in a future event!

The fact they all have BisCo as their character upsets and even kinda SCARES me. I mean, I knew she would end up being CHERNOBOG's character, but I didn't expect her to become the character of Aki Nation and Pa-Pi-Pu-Yeah! I have a feeling that her role in Pop'n Music will be much like what Navigator Rasis's is: to be the character of every single BeatStream song crossed over into Pop'n. So, キミとワタシのオンガク ITSELF (if it does get crossed over) may end up becoming the "missed opportunity" as BisCo will probably become its character even though Alt, a Pop'n Music character, is IN ITS VIDEO. There is only one reason why: KONMAI.

But, maybe the fact that Alt is in its video will cause the guys at KONAMI to think twice before making BisCo its character if they cross it over to Pop'n...

My favorite part about the Tanabata Festival is how the pop'n music songs all got brand-new videos in BeatStream, whereas the pop'n team just slapped BisCo as the rival on their crossover choices.

I think this one event itself sums up perfectly how little producer DJ Yoshitaka cares about pop'n music these days, and how his producing it since Lapistoria has turned a once quirky, fun series with lots of music into a barely updated (outside of contest songs, and even they stopped in April) and quiet franchise that has 90% of its characters designed by a single designer by herself these days.

I love playing Pop'n music but I think even Konami couldn't care less about this franchise.

And people are saying DDR is dead.

I don't know about this statment. As i've seen around this time though BeNama mainly, Pop'n Music receive a lot (and i mean A LOT) of stuff compared to other games like DDR or IIDX. Maybe not in form of Konami original songs, but pretty much in other things. I try to resume most of them:

- Plenty of crossovers from other games, and event who includes P'nM (BEMANI x pixv, the recent BRF, FLOOR INFECTION, the Hinabitter event)
- An special contest, just like in SDVX, but this time only for P'nM (what is pretty good, because brings to the game a lot of new artist ... some diversity is good for the game)
- KAC songs, and 2 of them
- A lot of goodies (special e-amusement cards, plushies, and other stuff)
- At least every month there is P'nM pool of song who can unlock via Star Fatory. Maybe you can't unlock a lot of songs like in RB or SDVX, but they are pretty active atm.

If this kind of stuff is likeable for all of the fans? maybe yes or maybe not, but at least the game isn't abandoned for like weeks without any kind of content (*ejemDDR2014*)

Events and contests are nice once in a while, but that's what most of eclale has literally been so far. In the past eight months since its release, there has only been 23 brand-new songs specifically created for the game. In comparison, Lapistoria had 20 brand-new originals on its very first day of launch.

Eclale is the DDR EXTREME of pop n music. It's whatever.

It's popular but has very little original content in terms of songs

And since then, 33 new songs were added (+ a bunch of cross-overs from CS versions or other Bemani games, not even counting License songs...)

Yeah, but most of them were part of the song contest!
