[SM5.0.12] DDR EXTREME-JP [WIP] Update: 9/17/19

AAAAH Yes! This is one I was hoping you'd come back to! Any accurate MAX era theme for SM5 is something I've wanted since it was released. 😭😭😭

Changelog:
Bug Fixes:
■Theme no longer stays on ScreenTitleMenu while in FreePlay/Pay Mode.
■Fix various Positions of elements on ScreenEvaluation
■Various Fixes around the theme.

Changes:
■Theme now supports direct drop-in of beware's extreme's Song and CDTitle folders.
■Theme has stronger 4:3 and 16:9 support.

KNOWN BUGS:
■Theme still isn't 100% ready for public use. Nonstop/Challenge mode is still buggy. It is recommended to disable those two modes in ScreenSelectDifficulty if you need to run the theme.
■Non-Event Mode use still isn't fully tested. Expect bugs.

Future Plans:
■Actually finish the damn theme already.
■Add options for things added in through Extreme Pro/Clarity (Fast/Slow indicators,Marvelous always on)
■Improve accuracy to make the most accurate Extreme theme to date.

Are there any plans to display the grades on the song wheel, and the available difficulties for the song (à la CS)?
An option to display your Marvelous count on the Evaluation screen would be nice too...

But YO if the end goal's just for AC simulation and that's it, I can respect that and I'm hella impressed!

I may add in a toggle switch somewhere to switch between AC and CS mode on stepmania boot

and as mentioned in my previous post, I plan to add in toggles for things that were added in Extreme Pro/Clarity (Marvelous always on, Fast/Slow indicstors)

Took some screenshots of some minor bugs I noticed on my low-res 4:3 setup, but they ain't really effecting my gameplay too much. lol

Thanks for mentioning those bugs, just about done fixing them as well as other things.

Holy shit, Inori. I never expected to across an SM5 DDR EXTREME theme let alone one ported from SM 3.9 and re-coded for SM5. I will try this out and give my impressions on it!

■Play "Let's DDR" announcer file on ScreenCaution
■Further fix Select Difficulty (Should be near arcade perfect now)
■Change Max Stages text on Select Style cards.

Changes:
■Course Mode screens nearly finished. (No more errors/crashes hopefully. Playable.)
■Change detection of card files for songs and courses. Now any song that has a card file will show the custom image. (Simplifies system if a user wants to create a DDRMAX/MAX2 theme or add their own images)

■Replace a majority of cmd's with functions (Mainly for optimizations) [Jose_Varela]
■Major Overhaul of ModIcons and Player Options screens. ModIcons now show on PlayerOptions and will change as the player changes modifiers. Also removes meter numbers for difficulty line and shows current selected difficulty icon. [Jose_Varela]

■BPM Display on SelectMusic/Course now scrolls depending on direction the user scrolls the music wheel. [Jose_Varela]
■Select Course now shows Course Contents and shows course explanations if they exist (<coursename>-exp.png)

I've done two quick fixes that I would rather have done now than later.
Fixes:
■Fix Switching to Challenge on Select Difficulty while two players present breaking pretty much everything.
■Fix placement of P2's meter number on Select Music

I'm late on checkin up on this thread but I gotta say I dig the English UI. It's everything I hoped would appear when I put in EX-US for the first time as a kid. lol

Also eeey those 3D CDTitles! 👌👌👌 Been loving this theme since it looks damn good with all the old-skool BG Scripts we've been making again.

As for bugs still, boyfriend noticed the music wheel items disappear before they leave the screen. Legit everything else works perfect in gameplay~

When you are selecting what folder you want to go in in the SelectMusicMenu, its playing DDR Extremes Roulette/Random song instead of the song that was selected before. I'm not sure if thats intended or not. But sometimes DDR Extreme plays the default song from the SelectStyle and SelectDifficulty as well.

The method used to load the last song was replaced with the standard load when selected method for now due to some issues going with using LastSong as the preview mode (Roulette and Random music would not trigger correctly unless selected twice).
