I apologize if this is the wrong place to put this
Is there a place to get WinRAR without having to see the "Please buy a license!" thing or do I just deal with it?
And are there any repercussions from keeping it without buying the license?
It slightly worries me

no repercussions, my desktop has had the same winrar installed for over a year now, and my moms old "i just need to check my e-mail" computer has had it for about 7 now :p
as for the license, i'm sure you can obtain it via shady methods but i dont know if al2k4 wants us to discuss that here so if thats the case you definitely shouldnt contact me outside of this site so i can tell you how ;)

Just deal with it, I really doubt the makers of WinRAR are going to start going after you for not buying the license.

I have one that works without the Registered since this one already is Registered by Alex.
Just install it then it will work.
Just pm me with your email so I can send it to you.

just scan them as much as you can using a professional virus scanning program like ad-aware 2007, norton antivirus. If it's still not good enough for you, there's no other choice but to delete the software from the website you got it from.

I've been using it since...I don't know, but the only problems I've had are random messages.
BTW, I always click Open, not Save.

I found and installed long ago what I believe is a corporate install of WINRAR which never gives me the licence request message. The normal one has something like a 30 day trial run before bombarding you with the purchase licence requests, which as far as I'm aware do nothing more than annoy you each time you open a RAR archive.
If normal WINRAR annoys you too much there are some nice freeware equivalents such as 7-Zip. The only problem is you can't create RAR archives with some alternatives, just unpack them.
