Rhythm Tengoku The Best Plus (3DS) (Japan)

Had already been announced on Nintendo Direct, however recently the release date was set for June 11 in Japan. No word yet on if it's releasing stateside.

Gutted nothing was mentioned at E3 >.<

i seriously doubt it's getting released here, wouldn't make sense to have a "the best" game with a huge amount of games that we've never even seen before (the GBA games)

i'll just import it if it isn't announced within the next 2-3 months or so

They could always rename the game o.O
I haven't seen a list of songs / games in the game yet but doesn't it feature stages from the Ds and Wii games that were release over here?

Yup only reason why I'm gutted a western release wasn't announced.
Can't justify importing a 3ds for one game (possible another game d.band bros)

The decision is becoming increasingly easier for me, as used copies of the Taiko no Tatsujin games get increasingly cheaper. The 3DS consoles are a *lot* cheaper in Japan than they are in the west, as well.

The English release, Rhythm Heaven Megamix, came out today during the E3 presentation.

I'm very disappointed so far. It feels very watered down.

Edit: I'm a little more satisfied now, but spoilers for after the 3rd trial:
The 7 Towers are much more in the classic Rhythm Heaven format. They are harder and keep the original music, sometimes retconning it into a "sequel". For example, in this game, Micro-Row has simpler gameplay and new music. Micro-Row 2 is the same as Micro-Row from Fever. They also have Remixes themed off their tower/diorama stage. Honestly the diorama stages just seem like easy mode for the Towers.

The point being, if you were bored like I was I implore you to keep going. I just hope there's plenty of post-story mode content as well.

Much earlier release than what I was expecting. Waiting for European release now.

The starter diorama sets make the game looks like it wants to appeal to the newcomers. (Not that it's a bad thing, but it does make for a low-key start, at least for me.) Heck, the scoring thresholds contribute to this too. 80% for Superb isn't a really difficult task to accomplish, for the most part. Though, I think it's nice that they switch to a score-based grading instead of picking two or three specific points in the song like "You got the bunny!" and based the judgments on that.

Also, Megamix allows you to switch between English and Japanese audios, like Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise (EU). Really cool. But I've heard that some songs have their vocals replaced with MIDI instruments? That's sad.

after finishing story mode, you still have:

challenge train, which has two more sets of courses after the first,
perfect challenges, which there are 100 of after unlocking all extra games,
the goat minigame, which caps off at lv200 i believe,
and the rhythm game items + music tracks from the shop, which you can buy from the shop

also yeah there's 2 false endings in the story (the first being after you clear the lush tower, the second after you clear the other 6 towers


yep, the lush remix, the machine remix, and one of the credits rolls have all had their vocals removed. honeybee remix still has them intact. haven't checked if the japanese versions still have their vocals but i'm sure they do

also, a kind of cool change i've noticed is that if you miss in a perfect challenge, it immediately ends. it also shows you how many chances you have left, unlike previous games

Well I mean more like stages but sadly there's nothing else aside from the Flow Ball purchasable ones and that seems like a real chore.

I already have the game in japanese.. wonder if i should get it in english..
gotta redo all of the stuff.. But i would know whats going on..
