There is beware's simulation of DDR EXTREME used Stepmania 3.9.
I played it and it's so accurate that I didn't noticed any different things the real DDR EXTREME except the setting mode of Stepmania and no boot screen.
So I think if someone install the beware's simulation on DDR cabinet(using the cheap PC), just a few people will notice the difference of real thing (unless the owner modify any data)
My question is, how to check the arcade DDR EXTREME is real or simulation?

Have you tried comparing the groove radars of the songs for both the real version of DDR EXTREME and the simulated version of DDR EXTREME. I tried this before and the grove radars for MAXX UNLIMITED from the real and the simulated ones seems to not match. That's how to check if the version of DDR EXTREME you are playing is a real or a simulation.

Huh, I kinda thought it wasn't that hard to tell.
Well, for starters, beware's EX song wheel interface is not as 'fluid' as the real thing. Also, it doesn't say "beware Rev something somthing somthing" at the title screen.

Uh, how about the fact that the beginner mode/how to play dancers aren't the same. At all. Not even close.

1. The backs of the CD titles should be gray, not a darker version of the front. They also should be 3D.
2. There should be a noticeable resolution drop once you enter gameplay. Check the credits fonts: if they appear more pixelated in game than in menu you have a legitimate Extreme.
3. The legend of MAX's BPM should change quickly and randomly, and should not become blank at any point.
4. The MAX/0x stage counter on mode select should actually represent how many stages you would get.
If all of these are true, it's actual Extreme.

Aah... credits font. okay. thanks. I checked the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJQ_bcao8qY and it's like the old version of GUITARFREAKS and drummania(before V series). easily noticed.

Songs like Dam Dariram, Love <3 Shine and Last Message have their hidden charts available at the get go.
