Hardest 9-footer?

We all have some sort of idea of which 10 footer separate themselves from another in difficulty. 9 footers, not so much. So which 9-footer(s) do you think is the hardest (nothing user-created please >.>)

1) PARANOiA Hades Expert
2) Arrabbiata Expert
3) Trip Machine PhoeniX Expert
4) Cartoon Heroes Expert
5) Healing Vision ~Angelic Mix~ Expert

The top 3 are probably misjudged by Konami as they feel like 10's. The last 2 are classic, difficult 9 footers.

I would say Arrabbiata, mainly because I completely suck with jumps, mainly due to my sheer physical size...

But Cartoon Heroes and HVAM are easy AAs. They aren't in the same category of difficulty as Arrabbiata or Paranoia Hades, and not even as hard as TMP (which, while easier than the first two, is still brutal).

wrong foot rating for paranoia hades..it's suppose to be 10..well that's the hardest i guess if we stick to 9-footer rating

I Think NGO, Unreal, Paranoia (hades), Trip machine (Phoenix), and Volcano is the hardest 9 footer in DDR.

Volcano? I think it's a mid/hard 8 myself...

Anyway, PARANOiA ~HADES~. PARANOiA Respect style 8th streams without the freeze, is completely not 9' difficulty. Hell, PR was a flashing 10 because of them!

Unreal and Konoko no nanatsu no oiwaini is imo very hard 9's, and Paranoia Hades should be a 10, or maybe even a 11, or maybe not, but still. NGO too.

Unreal isn't so bad apart from the section in the middle and the slowdown... it's hard, but still not anywhere near as bad as some of the others. NGO Expert isn't particularly evil, either... but the challenge chart sure is.

Paranoia ~Hades~ Expert, hands down, is the hardest one. I dont really think that there is a way to argue that it isnt. The crossovers, jumps, triplets, and foot speed make it killer. The tempo changes dont help either.

Arrabaitta Expert comes in at a close second, for the foot speed required, as well as raw technical skill needed for the crossovers and jump positioning at that speed.

TMP Expert and Unreal Expert arent that bad IMO. These are good, fun charts, but I dont find jumps hard. Unreal is like the big brother of stoic, DXY, and waka laka as far as step charts go, and TMP just requires some speed and technical ability with its jumps. TMP Expert is, however, IMO harder than TMP Challenge, but I think Challenge should be lowered instead of bumping Expert.

As for NGO, its not that bad. Think of what drop out would be like if it didnt have the jump streams and the run at the end was crossovery. Would that be one of the hardest 9s? No, and neither is NGO. NGO does have "WTF!?" factor for the slow down though. Are those steps actually part of something, or are you just stepping for the hell of it there?

IMO HVAM, So Deep, and Cartoon Heroes are harder than Unreal, TMP, and NGO. With the exception of TMP, I agree with the TC.

I'll put PARANOiA HADES and TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX and Arrabbiata in that order as the hardest 9s.

This is talking in a no bar perspective.

i think its interesting when people bring up bar use like that. it doesnt change the steps or anything, just how much effort you have to put into it. i dont think no bar ratings even matter, just general ratings. i mean, if you can rate things as "no bar" then why dont people discussing IIDX rankings discuss the one hand ranking of the song? either way, youre just discussing the rating of the song with or without handicapping yourself.

oh, and i have a harder time on arrabaitta no bar than i do TMP no bar, but thats just me. TMP is kinda like "here, jump for a bit" while arrabaitta is more like "hey, run sideways ok now turn that way no quick double step no jump no run i mean jump no turn and step no crossover no jump no crossover hey quick jump again" and i hate it.

I'm surprised how many people found Unreal to be "OMG HARD"
It's a mid-9 to me. sure it's turing, but it would be pretty easy to get down after a few plays.

thats how i felt about unreal, i mean there are even other charts like that so i dont see what the whole shock factor of it is. i mean, two of the songs with similar style charts are 8s.

End of the Century seems a bit odd. It has the long streams and plenty of jumps that would seem devastating and a bit of a stamina drain to classify it as difficult. Granted it is a bit slow...

What is your opinion on this?

If you’re going to give End of the Century a 10, you might as well push Healing Vision (Angelic mix) Love Is Dreaminess and Xenon up to 10 as well.

Oh no. Not like that. I'm just saying that it is sort of on the higher end on the 9 scale. How Konami rated this an 8 the first time, I'll never know.

And yeah, I just noticed its like Love is Dreaminess.
