Does anybody have a noteskin which includes the actual shock arrows from DDR instead of mines?
So instead of these

Is there a noteskin which has these?

Try downloading these: https://mega.co.nz/#!qRsg2YJb!DdVEKzPGVqW5NoJ4Y9sqqRvN16JzzKl-6C-_cHRYliI
I believe these have correct shock arrows. However, it's an AMX noteskin so you might have to convert it to 3.9/5/whichever version you're using.

I've never done it myself; that being said, I'm sure there are guides online somewhere. Can't be too hard.

Did you want it for 3.9 or 5? (If you want it for 3, just use link above. For 5... I think I can edit it in. Depends on what specific noteskin you want it for. I am not great at graphics so, I would need the spritesheet... I did make a 3.95 noteskin for 5 but, it's not exactly like 3.9 but, its close enough. I could mod the mines to use shock arrows. Up to you though.)

Next step: Finding a theme that supports making the mines apply the temporary stealth effect of shock arrows.

No, I mean in/for Default/Fallback for SM5. It's called "Simulation" for a reason. I always have been a DDR fan. Shock arrows implemented would be neat.
edit: Err, in this case, it's a noteskin. Default/Common. My bad.

Stepmania default is not DDR. Shock arrows are something for custom theme or noteskin authors to implement. The features that make it possible are there.Post #12 · Posted at 2014-10-13 11:49:57pm 10.5 years ago

There probably should be a theme that correctly emulates shock arrows, shouldn't there?
The first time I played the real DDR2013 at an arcade about a month ago, I was shocked (no pun intended) by the stricter timing windows of shock arrows and the temporary invisibility. Never saw any videos where somebody actually hit any shock arrows.

So, for SM5, this would be the generic idea for a noteskin with shock arrows. (without the stealth thing. I honestly have no idea how to go about doing that. Probably some Lua/metric editing.) This would be the starting point. You can edit this as needed. I just did a quick edit of my mines, rotated the arrows/mines in lua, and added a electric pattern overlay from GIMP.

edit: If you wanted to change the hit mine sound, you need to change the theme's sound. _fallback uses "Player mine.ogg"

I didn't mind whether the proper Shock Arrow effect was created, I just wanted the mine visuals to be replaced with Shock Arrows. Still, it's a very cool idea if anyone could pull it off.

It's pretty trivial to implement mines causing temporary stealth if you know how the judgement actor knows what judgement to display, and how to apply mods to a player.
(I know exactly how to do it because I did it ~8 months ago, I just want to see if someone else can figure it out)

I have a noteskin that has the Shock Arrows that work for SM5. I don't remember where I got it exactly, but I could share the folks when I have time (or find the download place).

Here's one. The design of the notes is a bit shoddy, but it gets the job done.
