[SM5 THEME WIP] DDR 2014 ~Beta 1.0 release

Once SuperNOVA3 is finished, I'll see if I can work on this theme.

Real themers don't finish themes, they just work on them making incremental changes until real life intervenes. ;)

Hey, new user and first time poster, albeit long time DDR/ITG/Stepmania player.

First off, amazing job with the theme, but I noticed two bugs, both relating to the battery life:

A: In the DDR 2014 AC Extra Stage, you are forced to use the 4LIFE battery system. But for some reason, in the theme, I have a life bar instead. This is an easy enough fix in metrics.ini, I think. I haven't tested it yet. Same problem goes for the Encore Extra Stage.

B: Speaking of the battery life, several months ago you coded the battery life system to give you one more life than was actually displayed to counteract a bug with SM5's life system. Now that SM5's battery life system is fixed, you now actually get one more life than is actually displayed, which while minor, is probably not intended.

(Don't ask me why I choose to play with the battery system, sometimes I have too much free time)

EDIT #2: Ok, after some testing, I can tell you that, at least on my end, getting the battery to work on the extra stage is being a pain for some reason.

Scratch this! Just discovered the Up Down Up Down sort method, which is incredible.

Ok now i just need to figure out how to get my announcers into this theme. It seems i lose the option to change graphics after setting this theme on. I also can't seem to figure out how to get my random backgrounds working in this theme either. It removed a LOT of the normal options.

So I tried to follow the steps to get the random BG animations working but when i did that it stated a RANDOM folder was missing within the ScreenGameplay Underlay folder. I then tried to manually add that and it didn't work. I then followed up with an attempt to put my BG movies there, that also caused the game to crash.

Is this theme still alive or is it put on hold?

A little help here!
I set in metrics.ini, preferences.ini, and in the stepmania options, fail type to "end of songs"
Playing an Expert chárt to avoid the fail off in begginer or basic.
However I get ALWAYS "CLEARED"
what I'm doing wrong? No matter what, always cleared

EDIT: Fixed. For helping: you need to change some stuff in the .lua scripts.

I noticed this theme doesn't save difficulty settings in the profile because it's missing from the song options menu.
Is there any way to force it to start up on my preferred difficulty every time when starting a new game?

Every time I start a new game, it goes to basic by default.

It doesn't hae level select screen becaue of bug, the devs always try to put it in, but well, they can't (please read previous post), the only way to change the level is by pressing PAD UP/PAD DOWN twice, just like previous version of DDR. I can't help, I can't code things, and I didn't contribute anything.

If someone wan't to contribute, go to github and upload yours, then the devs process it.

Any tips about how to enable "no mines" option in player options?
