Intro to gallops would be "My Generation", as it only has a few gallops, so if you can't do well on them, you can still survive the song.
R&P is for convincing people they'll never be able to do gallops. ;)

There is Skip Master in SN1 which caters for gallops I suppose...

"Charlie isn't real" |
...As a DDR Club President at my school, i pretty much teach nearly a CLASS full of people about DDR, i know most of the basics of it, the songs and song choices for different difficulties, and the gist and know-it-all that pretty much every DDR expert knows.
Here's something, however, that kinda makes me a little bit worried and if i can get any help, please and thank you.
DDR X (coming this winter) is the next installment of DDR, i know that, however, one thing that really makes me confused about this game is the new rating scale and the re-rating of older songs. THIS i may have a problem with (trying to tell someone that this song used to be a lower scale and now it's bumped to this higher scale may get them a little bit worried about playing that song). All i do know is that anything above a 12 or 13 footer is a NO NO for beginners...or anything above a 10 =P if someone can explain to me (in simplest form if you can) about the new rating scale, i would really appreciate it. thx =)
EDIT: hopefully DDR X for the home console will have the WELCOME tutorial like the AC has, or something.

When people play Afronova again on DDR X, they will surprised because Afronova has new rating that look difficult but actually the stepchart is same like before.

Uh, no. The odds are on that they'll already know about the rating change, and if they didn't, they probably wouldn't even know about the old rating system anyway.

I've never been able to do Afronova's crossovers correctly at the arcades. But then again, the extreme at my arcade, you have to press pretty hard, which I can't do one those LDRLUR kind of crossovers.

Tino's White Horse is probably the best song to teach gallops in my opinion. There is no other song that actually has "horse-rhythm" in it. It's also slow to boot.
And it's also funny to listen to when you think about it.
I haven't played AFRONOVA in like forever. I remember seeing that in DDR for PS1 about 8 years ago when I started playing. I was like "OMG DIFFICULT!"
Now I'm pretty sure I can beat it.

Thanks to Kyzentun and Oni-91 for the galloping suggestions. I'll put them to good use (which includes me improving on them). I completely forgot about the Skip Master course, mainly because I never bother with them. I'd practice now, but it's almost midnight, and the arcade I frequent should be about to close.

The problem with Tino's White Horse is that it has crossover gallops, which can be a little tricky at times.
I normally don't like to coach DDR. If someone wants to start to play and asks me about it, I recommend them a few songs and let them venture into the game themselves and let them find songs that they think are fun. It's their experience; not mine.

That's pretty much what I do/tell everyone when they ask me how to play or how to get better at it. And then there are some people who are just impossible to coach...

Especially on Doubles. Speaking of Doubles, you can try Flowers, Freckles, or Petit Love (I know the last one was last on 5thMIX).

What you can do to teach people to do gallops is tell them to practice galloping in place when not playing the actual game.

Also, a good song for gallops is INFINITE PRAYER , I think. It's an easy 9 (prolly like an 11 in new rating speak), and there's also some nice, long streams at the beginning which are perfect for practicing PA.

INIFINITE PRAYER was my first AA 9.
I'd agree that it's useful for practicing gallops, but only if you're already good at long streams and taps.
Anway, a gallop song on SN2 US CS, would be "Can't Stop The Rain". The beginning is for chained gallops, the end is for random gallops.
