UPDATE January 9 2018:
We moved! We're now combined with Marley Bounce Party on the lower level of Marley Station Mall next to Macy's and Gold's Gym.

For updates and more information, be sure to like the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/GamePlayMD
--
Skimmed and didn't find a thread, but any players left in Maryland? We just finished (well, still a work in progress) installing a DDR 2013 at GamePlay in Marley Station Mall (Glen Burnie):

Right now, the main thing to watch out for when you play on this machine is that the wires to the card readers are currently exposed, and if they are nudged it may cause the machine to throw an error (which can only be cleared by turning the machine off then back on). Please avoid placing items on the machine until we can get the wiring cleaned up.
I've also heard concerns about the pads on the machine; Ryan and I spent pretty much all of last weekend cleaning and tuning the pads as best we could. There is still room for improvement, but we think they are definitely in a playable state, and we will do what we can to improve things.
Lastly, although I'm the one making this announcement, I do not work for the arcade. If you happen to see the arcade staff on location, make sure to thank them for being open to us installing the game into their cabinet!

And thus begins the grand migration of DDR 2013 into America/parts not intended for 2013.
This is pretty awesome news for both the community and even the arcade staff

I've seen it done before, it's quite convenient. The one on this machine accepts $5 and perhaps larger denominations too; certainly beats carrying around a bucket of quarters.

I haven't updated here in a while, so a quick summary of the past few months:
* eAmusement Passes are now on sale next door at the Dollar Store. They should cost $10 each.
* New sensors have been installed on the first player side, which should resolve some longstanding issues. I've been seeing some great scores come out of players on that side, so it seems to be working well!
* We are currently tracking an issue with some sticky arrows on the second player side; I made a few attempts to resolve the issue before Memorial Day weekend but this one is proving difficult =/ This is happening on an arrow we also installed new sensors in; at last resort, I might be putting the old, less sensitive sensors back in until we can figure out a more permanent solution.

(No one else posts in this thread and I have no way of making new posts until people do, so here is a very long line of me talking to myself.)

I always forget to update all the places, so... on Sunday we swapped out a sensor on the 2P side that was giving issues. I was personally there for four hours of continuous play thereafter, where we didn't see any sign of issues, nor have I been told the issue has occurred again since. Come out and play!

In brighter news, a few weeks ago we finally got GuitarFreaks V8 working. Both it and DrumMania V8 will be in the arcade for a little bit longer; get your rocking out in while you still can!

Please let us know which side you prefer, or if you'd rather we just go back to the super-light setup we had before!

WOW I am so jealous!!! I went to college at University of Maryland from 2000-2003 and used to frequent the arcades in our area. I really wish this place was around when I went to school. I live pretty far away now, but if I am in Maryland again I will stop by!

So it has been an incredibly trying couple weeks. Currently pop'n music is the only music game functioning; DDR is still a work in progress, and both ITG and IIDX have since suffered sudden, unexpected monitor issues that leave both games unplayable. We unfortunately don't expect this to be a short term situation. I'll try to keep this thread updated and can only thank everyone for their patience as we try to recover.

We didn't. Card readers are present because the games still need them to boot and some game functions are tied to the keypad; card insertion doesn't work.

Hey, been a while since the last update. We've been through a lot; IIDX is on a new monitor after suffering through three monitor failures in total this year, so, uh, fourth time's the charm? This week we also installed new grip turntables, completing our planned upgrades for the machine. (There are still a few repairs on the schedule, most notably the headphone jacks.) Come check it out!

We will also be at MAGFest with IIDX, pop'n, GFDM, and ITG. The games will be removed from the arcade on January 3rd and return January 10th in order to take them to the event and back.

Much work has been put into the DDR pads the past few weekends. Work done so far:
-Raised and countersunk pads
-LED lights for pads/marquee
-Andamiro-style sensor bracket spacers
-Removed tape and remaining fabric covers from bars so it's no longer a sticky mess
Some more work planned as soon as more parts arrived, but come check it out!

We had some people telling us they had issues with the DDR pads, so we opened them up, vacuumed them out, and rotated the sensors so the more worn ones would be on the outer edges. They all still seemed fine, so this was more of a precaution; I'm going on the assumption the vacuuming was the big issue, but we might also be taking another look at the L-bracket spacers soon.

In case you guys haven't been following it on Facebook, GamePlay has moved across the mall to a new, much larger space! We just finished moving our games back from MAGFest last night. Here's some shots of the new combined GamePlay/Marley Bounce Party:

The new location is on the lower level next to Macy's and Gold's Gym. Here's a map if you need it:

With the move all games are now operating on tokens instead of quarters.

In other news, I hear Save Point Arcade has opened on Westminster's main street. I haven't had a chance to go out there and not sure I will be able to anytime soon. Anyone over there check it out?
