Sonic Boom (Opinions/Reactions?)

Recently, Sega released a new trailer for a new Sonic game/series extension. It'll have not only a game, but a CG animated series to go with it; and along with that, several character re-designs as seen here: http://nintendoenthusiast.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Sonic-Boom101.jpg

I personally think that it looks interesting, although it may seem a tad bit odd at first. Will give it a shot once the time comes, but I'll just wait and see.

There hasn't been a good Sonic TV series since SATam, so my expectations for Sonic Boom are pretty low. Also, everyone looks like they came out of Final Fantasy X, only with less belt skirts and laughing Tidus.
As for the game...well, Sonic 06 was as bad as a sonic game could get, so it can't possibly be that bad.

Mixed expectations. The redesigns are a little silly, but if it plays well, then it's not going to bother me.

Its funny how they're overreacting to everything. Amy looks so, so meh. I can expect lots and lots of stuff in Pixiv and Deviant.

I'm kinda mixed right now. I was only expecting it to just be a cartoon series, but now they are going to incorporate it into a videogame. The redesigns are okay, of course Knuckles is by far the most rediculous.

The gameplay looks . . . interesting. But I think Bangarang did a good job with helping with that (It seems to make everything seem more exciting). It looks like it might be fun but I've learned with recent sonic games not to set my expectations too high.

At least the redesigns look... unique...

Tails looks amazing out of the four, Amy is second to that.
Sonic looks okay I guess...
Knuckles on the other hand os going to be hard to get used to...

I like the new designs, but my initial complaint was the bandages over the shoes. So I looked into it and its sports tape. The action of using sports tape over the shoes is called "spatting," and football players do this to prevent injury.

And in looking back at the designs with this new found knowledge, I can appreciate that detail into the new sonic. It would make sense for him to reinforce his feet since all he does is run and and slide.

They need to fix Knuckles' ankle though

That is exactly right. I mean there really isn't anything more to it. If it's a good game, sure, but I couldn't really care less about it right now or the redesigns. It's another one of those 3D Sanics so it's more or less a turnoff. You won't get another SA2 so quit asking for one.

This (the 3DS version) is from the same team that developed the newest Sly Cooper game. If they're careful to design the game to be playable it would be better than 60% of the Sonic games from the last 12 years lol.

Thumbs up if the story is good. At least it's focusing on the main three characters and that dude calling himself Knuckles. Even his design isn't that bad; maybe they wanted him to be more unique and/or emphasize that he's clearly stronger than the others, I dunno.

Mixed feelings about how they're temporarily going away from the main storyline (if there still is one; lost track at the storybook games). Wanted some more fun with the other characters, but that's all personal bias.

Thank you AlphaOmegaSin. You helped me gained a little bit more confidence in this game. Though to be honest I've never played any Naughty Dog game, so i'm kind of at a disadvantage here.

I don't subscribe but every time I see him it's usually in good taste regardless of his volume or the way he comes across.

I like how her voice acting sounds similar to Cree Summer. A TV is shown in Sticks' home so I find that interesting, given the earthy setting shown thus far.

Well at least Sticks is a better character than Marine. She does sound like Cree with a slight lisp (at least I think I hear a lisp).

I think that Sticks is going to be a very good to character to be added to the Sonic Universe family. Such a fantastic job.

I've never seen the show, but I've been hearing it getting compared to that Pac-Man And The Ghostly Adventures show.
I don't think that's a good thing.
