Because the rhythm game scene here is too small for a [province] thread. Thought I would make a thread for this considering there are quite a few others for states, locations, and the like.

So yeah, I currently reside in Ottawa, which isn't that bad for arcades (dance-game-wise). From what I know, there's 2 SuperNOVA1 cabs, 2 ITG2 cabs (one modded with ITG3 theme), and 1 X2. Sadly, no more Extreme cabinets as far as I am aware.

IIDX is more exclusively my forte now (8th dan player). I've heard there exists a few machines in the country, but I have never had the opportunity to ever see or play on one.

Any other Canadian Bemani players here who'd like to share their thoughts?

Well, the arcade closest to me has an ITG2 R21 and a DDR X. I wish there could be an X2! We've had a GfDM 10-9 IIRC, but it's long gone. I'm in Quebec city, but I'm guessing there are better arcades in Montreal, though I never went to see if they had any IIDX. If there were, I'd be there every weekend!

Yeah, I was ecstatic when I heard there was an X2 in town. Operators don't do many upgrades (if at all) and even maintenance is iffy (or downright atrocious) at some locations. That location seems to be good with it's maintenance though. Only setback is that it's across town for me.

I've actually been tossing around the idea of making a proposal for that arcade to get a IIDX machine. I would expect it to be a hard sell considering the price of a single cabinet, but it might be worth a try. Worst thing that could happen is they decline.

I'm more interested in cabs around the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), anywhere in Southern Ontario for that matter, as I live in Oakville.

There's still a few Extreme machines around, and some locations with Supernova/Supernova 2. ITG2 scene is very limited though. There are a few, but most are really badly maintained. The only one I know that are maintained pretty well is the one in Hamilton (Laser Quest), which is the one I usually go to myself. There's 2 in Newmarket as well but it's pretty far for myself to go to =/.

Playdium used to be good as well though. It has Supernova 2, Pump Pro, Technika 3 and Re-Rave (and Guitar Hero lol), but Technika's online service went down last month so I have almost no incentive to go there anymore.

At least here our arcade is pretty keen on maintenance. The machines are working really well, even the X cabinet we have! They're just too greedy to bother buying anything newer or any other possible franchise...

I live in East York so I guess my main arcade would be Playscape in Pacific Mall. The Technika 3 machines at Playdium and Playscape are now back online btw (on a private server with everything unlocked by default).

The Supernova 2 at Scotiabank Theatre in downtown Toronto recently got updated to DDR X. Since the place is near my university I'm pretty hyped to try it out even if US DDR X cabs are absolute trash, I'm just hype for new Bemani machines in Toronto in general.

New arcade opening up in Toronto, the owner is potentially getting a Taiko cab. There's also a chance of an IIDX being there.

Owner has discussed on <a certain forum> about possibly buying a Taiko machine. He said IIDX could happen but it's too big.

Nice, hope they're successful in raising funds, it'd be nice to have an arcade downtown again.

It's not probably going to look like an actual cab though, but eh, having IIDX is better than not having IIDX, right?

I've been following the news on this. Pretty exciting even though I don't live in Toronto haha. Although I'd seriously consider taking a bus down just for IIDX.
