I enjoy making edits for DDR songs and want to share them with this site, but I have no idea where to start. If you check out my channel, you can see that I have a whole bunch of PS2 edits. Is there a way to transfer these files, or upload them to zenius-i-vanisher from the PS2 memory card?
If not, then can someone explain another way I can do this?
And I have no StepMania experience; I don't know how to use it.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Also, if you do check any of the edits out, could tell me what you think of some of them? Thanks!

Well the first thing you're going to need is 50 points or higher, then you can request your own simfile pack.
I'd help more, but that's all I know so far. Still a bit of a start though!

Thanks RevAddict5 for that!
I also have no idea whether there is a specific file format and how to create said file format to upload in the first place. Does anyone know the specifics?
Do I have to use StepMania? Or is there some other way?
Any answers would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, you have to use Stepmania to be able to upload the simfiles. Good thing it's free

I guess.
Which version do you recommend? I've heard some people say that some of the older ones are better than the current version.
Is editing simfiles easier in one version over another?
So no one knows of any way to change the PS2 data directly into an sm. (that's the format right?)?
I just want to make sure before I do anything else.

I have no knowledge of anything that can convert ps2 edit data to .sm, but to help you on you way to creating your edits in Stepmania, a lot of people still circlejerk 3.9 as if it's a godsend, and right now the Stepmania website is currently going under renovations, so you can't really download the recent one from there. I suggest instead 3.95 or OITG as they both work with the .sm format. OITG should still be up for it's website.
I'd definitely like to see what you've made, give me something interesting to play, even though be it I'll only play on keyboard as I don't own a USB Dance Pad.

@Dogman1227 I found a link, but the page looks very informal. Is this the link?
http://openitg.gr-p.com/
Also @Dogman1227 I have a link to my YouTube channel in my signature. I upload a lot of DDR edits there. You can check it out if you're interested.
I'll try something tomorrow.
Thanks for your help everyone!

If anything else comes up, I'll ask.

To Op:
Upload your stuff here if you don't have 50 pts or more.

I already added you as co-owner since it takes me 2 seconds, so you could just use the link and put what is needed there.
It's pretty common sense there in that page of what to do.
Fill in the blanks...browse the files needed...hit upload...

Thanks Aegis for adding me, but the problem is that I don't have any simfiles to upload. I only have the data from the PS2 Edit Library.
I need to learn how to make a simfile in the first place (which requires StepMania, which I have never used). Do you think you can help me with that?

Relatively simple process.
Download Stepmania 3.9. While it's pretty old and there are superior versions, this is the most stable build and will work fine for what you need it to do.
Next, look here for the songs you have edit data for, and download those simfiles. To extract the actual folder containing the files, I recommend using WinRAR, it's very helpful. In the Stepmania folder, you'll see a subfolder that says "Songs", go in there and create a new subfolder, this will be where you'll put those simfiles you downloaded, feel free to name the folder whatever you want.
Example:

Note that if you download a whole simfile category/pack, like this one, then there's no need to make a subfolder for it, because all the simfiles inside are already in a subfolder.
Go to edit mode (it'll be on the main screen), and from there you can make your own steps to just about anything, or in this case, you can copy the steps from your PS2 edit library into a simfile. Of course, you'll have to do this manually, but it's better than nothing.
For help with the edit mode and how to use it, I recommend this step-by-step guide, it's good for getting started and understanding the basics of what you can do in Edit Mode.
When you actually finish making a file, to upload it to the site, just click Upload Simfile inside the category, and follow the steps shown.
Hopefully this proves useful, but feel free to ask if you need additional help, I kinda did this quick so I might have missed a few details.

The hard part is finding a song to step and syncing it.
The rest should be cake.
If you want to make those DDR edits accessible in stepmania...go to the simfle database - http://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/simfiles.php
Use Search- then find the song you want.
Then you download the simfile.
Open up stepmania/open_itg/whatever.
Get into edit mode and delete a chart and create one for the difficulty you deleted.
Inside you use the setup you have for the keyboard and assign notes to the song like you would in DDR Edit mode, it'll just have different buttons.
If that was hard to follow, go to youtube and find "Simfile Tutorial".
Or read this if you are lost on what to do in stepmania:
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/showthread.php?t=72047
Yes, it's FFR, people, but from what I have skimmed from googling "how to make a simfile", it's an ok start explaining how to put notes on the screen.
Some things to read that I think you'd want to read in regards to presenting, syncing, etc:
http://r21freak.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=24395
http://r21freak.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=6023

There are literally so many ways to do this, like actually using the .sm file on notepad/wordpad, but for starters, keep it simple.
