I don't know about you guys, but everytime I play on a DDR cabinet somewhere, there is at least one panel that dones not work "perfectly". On some cabinets there are two, and in rare cases one of the entire sides is unresponsive. But on almost all DDR AC's there is one panel that screws you up the whole time you are trying to play.

All SuperNOVA machines I've played on have worked PERFECTLY. Extreme machines do have a lot of broken things, but that's because they're old.

Depends what arcade I go to; some take care of the machines and some don't.
The ones that don't usually have some broken arrows, usually on the 2P side.

a lot of pictures i see of scores are on the P2 side, and i know its my preferred side, so i'm not really surprised when i find a broken P2 side as they take a lot of abuse.
the arcade back home has an extreme where the P1 side has a busted down(i couldnt even AA stuff like .59 on it >_<) , but P2 works perfectly. there is also a SN that was originally DDRUSA, as if being that old isnt bad enough it was upgraded to ITG then ITG2 so that thing has taken a ton of abuse. my brother told me that a few weeks ago they finally got the P1 side to semi-work, but the P2 side is pretty much dead. the arcade refuses to accept that they might have to order new sensors for a 7 year old machine, so it might be screwed.

If they're spending $4,000 on an upgrade, why not just spend $10,000 more to get a new, top-of-the-line one?

Because that's over double the price?
Most pads I play on are great, the SN machine at London Troc always works fine for me
And their Euromix 2s work just fine aswell. I played a 5th MIX once at a funfair, it worked beautifully, it was a top notch dedicab.
I can only remember playing on a few crappy DDR pads.

SN2- they dont even want to spend money on sensors for a 7 year old machine, why would they spend $10 grand for a brand new one?
e-s-g- yeah, every machine i played on when i made my trip to london back in july was amazing. i had one dropped step the whole time, and it was on konoko so it very well could have been me. all i know is if i can sight-read pass paranoia respect expert doubles, those are some good pads. the only bad machine was the ITG2 machine at picadilly circus(sorry if thats spelled wrong), everything else was great. lucky guys there to have machines in that condition.

Yeah, I guess we would be pretty lucky :p While they have nice DDR machines, if they could only fix up the beatmania 3rd...
I've seen that ITG2 machine, it looks so awful, I hardly ever look at it.
I'm not sure if the ex-EXTREME machine's pads still work well though, I've never really been interested in playing the now, EuroMix 1.

That's funny, because at our arcade it's the 1P side with the broken panels. It an upgraded SuperNOVA from Extreme.
Oh well, the arcade's selling it and getting an used ITG2 dedicated cabinet sometime this week, so I can't complain.

I think it has a little something to do with, us driving on the left and you guys driving on the right hence the differences in 1P/2P usage lol.

We have two DDR machines in town, and it's exceedingly rare to see a broken panel on either of them... guess it somewhat depends on how well the arcade operators maintain their machines, probably.

Where do you live? I have a lot of DDR machines around me, and most of them are SuperNOVA dedicated cabinets.

The Machine in the aracade at the pougheepsie galleria in poughkeepsie , New York , US Has an EXTREME machine that SUCKS!!! Neither pad picks up any steps. U have to smash the pad for it to pick up any steps. If it does pick up a step it'll show up late. It's so frustrating and I refuse to play there any more.

I know one of the machines I use to go to had a broken left panel on player 1’s side, and it’s been like that for at lease 2 years. and the ITG machine I play on has it’s panel problems every now and then.

Wow, has Shooping the Woop evolved into something DDR related?
SN2 is quite clearly the winnar of the interwebs.
