I'm considering buying a PS3 finally. I would like to be able to have one system in my room to play PS games, so I would like to know if it's even possible to play DDR on a launch PS3 (DDR2010 is a myth), and if I could just use any USB pad, or if I have to buy an adapter or PS3 pad.
Bump: Actually, I realized that buying a launch PS3 would probably be a bad idea. I should probably just pick up a slim PS3 and a new cable for my PS2 so I can plug it into my monitor.
Edit: also emulators, but I think DDR is still broken

You have to buy a PS3 pad.
Don't use that adapter that you can use PS2 controllers on the Computer. You can use it but it wont accept 2 arrows at a time.

it depends on that adapter I think
they made some with specific compatibility with DDR pads
