Okay guys, I have really found an interesting dilemma with a Dance Dance Revolution X2 machine.

The machine has no errors that it can detect with any kind of ROM checks. However, the player 2 pad will perform the same functions as the Player 2 Select buttons. So, if you start a song that began with right arrow jacks, the pad will speed up the arrows for roughly the first 1/8th of the song (And slowing down with left arrows. Plus, if hidden+/sudden|+ or on, the screens will shift as you play the song and hit up/down arrows.)

Thus far, I have checked the wiring from the pad to the machine, and there appears to be no errors. Tomorrow, I plan on troubleshooting by hooking up the Player 2 pad to the Player 1 receiver. I will update about this after that.

If it ends up being the player 2 wiring from the pad connector to the computer, would that mean a configuration error? If so, what method would you guys recommend on trying to fix it?

If it is the pad, I don't even have a clue what to do.

Next problem:

DDR Extreme machine. Simple issue. I need a new flash card for the machine. Any recommendations?

Only one I've found.

Does this issue only happen on player two's side and not player one's? I've seen this issue on several machines actually (Universal Studio's, back when Dollywood had an X2, Round 1's in CA), but then I've not seen it on others (Zuma's old machine, the X2 in Schaumburg, IL and one in Burmingham, AL). If this was previously not an issue and it has suddenly become one, I'm going to assume some sort of wiring or circuit has malfunctioned. If it's always done this, chalk it up to bad Betson design.

No idea how to approach fixing it then?

The Birmingham machine is the one I am referring to. If that's the issue, would I need to manually go through specific wires or should we replace the pad's wire or something?

From what I've heard, a replacement of the input circuit board is required. There may also be a short in the wires. Basically, the input buttons on the panel reuse the same circuit as the actual foot panels. You can reproduce the effect that you describe if you hold down a button on the machine then hit the foot panels. My guess is there's some sort of wire that tells the game that the panel buttons are being pressed vs the foot panels and that wire is basically messed up. Out of curiosity, do the foot panels allow you to change the songs as well or just the speed mod during the beginning of the song?

Yes, the P2 foot panels allows you to change songs.
