As we all know, the people who make the stepcharts don't always do a very good job. Most of the time, they make the worst possible charts for the best sounding songs in their respective game. This thread is designed to list some of the best sounding songs that have really bad stepcharts. I'll start off with Heaven is a '57 metallic gray (gimmix). I love the song, but the fact that I can't time the speed-ups after each slowdown properly cause me to hate the charts (That's right. All of them.) with a passion. As a result, I haven't even FC'd the Basic chart!

Koko Soko. Too much on the spins.
My Fire
and Xanadu's 4th Mix + chart. These charts do not follow the song at all.

I'm sure we've had a thread like this before, but since nobody seems to be posting in that thread, I'll mention:
Under the Sky
(is it a 3 or a 9? Let's split the difference and call it a 6!)
Under the Sky

Seasons
is such a bad chart with the random eighth notes, but the song itself is soothing. The duet between the violin and sax is really good. (or whatever the instruments are)

I loved Under The Sky but the first time I played
(on pad) last 2007, I failed because of the ending stream. It was a freaking 6 on the meter yet it felt like a 7.
Innocence of Silence
gave me a hard time too because of the BPM changes in the middle. I wonder why that was necessary.

I could mention some of the Club Mix songs as well... Deep Clear Eyes, Ska a Go Go... It's true that at that era, the standards were as they were, but still these two were good songs, but with stepcharts that made no sense.

Well, Orion.78 (civilization mix)
was a strange chart for that song. Especially those gallops in the middle that didn't have any cue from the song. When I first saw the chart, I was like WTH?

End of the Century is a pretty nice song,
is basically accidental autogen so it kinda ruins the fun of even playing it.
A few of the songs from whatever DDR game was on the PS3 (I forget what it was) were pretty good but the charts were pretty meh and leave a lot to be desired.
All of the Radar Specials minus maybe the Freeze Special since it kinda does an ok job.
Trip Machine Evolution's
chart. As far as Trip Machines go, it's not the best sounding, but it's still a good standalone song.
There's way more, but I cant think of them right now.

Considering its legendary status on every other Bemani game it has been in, The Least 100 sec.
is just an insult to the song.

@OrangeRight
I actually really like The Least 100 sec. Heavy.
I also wanna add THEME FROM ENTER THE DRAGON (notorious mix) to the thread. The song sounds amazing, especially the ending; however, the only part of the chart that I really like is the part where the arrows follow the sound effects. Everything else is just meh.

Private Eye is my favorite song from DDR 2013, but the S-
chart is horrible
At least in X3, the D-
is okay.

This is going to sound really stupid but to me, any DDR version of a song from another game is worst in DDR. This was true back then when most songs got the shaft in length.

I find the Double chart to be entertaining...but Single is certainly lacking.

Double chart is even worse. It actually leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Maybe it is a good thing the song is gone.

I'm curious about something: was this THIS off on the arcade or it's just the video?
Speaking of that, the licenses from the first DS games (Can't Get You Out of My Head, Don't Stop Movin' on top of my head) had pret-ty boring

this is probably an unpopular opinion, but i find the spins in Private Eye

I love Haunted Rhapsody and the whole opera sound, but I just can't get into those steps, they feel too randomized

I'll have to say Monkey Punk from DDR SN 1. A song of that speed could've at least gotten an 8 chart on
rather than that ridiculous 6 chart with all those crossovers & holds. I can get higher scores on boss songs than that one chart. It's rated a 6, but feels a lot more like a 7.
I'm also going to add Somewhere Over The Rainbow
. It may be rated a 7, but the chart is severely unbalanced. You start with a 16th note death run at the beginning (which is virtually unheard of in charts in the 7-8 range at that time). Then, you have a 35 BPM slowdown. Now, I haven't played the chart in a long time, but from what I can recall, it's pretty unbalanced in my opinion. It's Raining Men (Almighty Mix)
deserves an honorable mention for similar reasons.

I'm also going to add Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Majority of the licenses in DDR X2 USA. Lots of them don't even get past 200 combos.
