I liked the concept Dance Dance Revolution had about "Specials" related to the groove radar but I didn't exactly like how it was executed in the official files. I gave it a shot myself and included two other special types -- mine special and trip special. All of the files here are pad files. The step counts count jumps as one step.
There are a total of 15 files in this pack. 5 Groove Radar Specials, 3 Air Specials, 1 Stream Special, 1 Voltage Special, 1 Freeze Special, 2 Chaos Specials, 1 Trip Special and 1 Mine Special.
1.) air - "AIR" Special
2.) AM-3P (303 BASS MIX) - "CHAOS" Special
3.) CANDY - "STREAM" Special
4.) DEAD END - "GROOVE RADAR" Special
5.) Goatstep - "VOLTAGE" Special
6.) Look To The Sky - "FREEZE" Special
7.) MAX 300 Super-Max-Me Mix - "GROOVE RADAR" Special
8.) New Decade - "AIR" Special
9.) OUTER LIMITS - "AIR" Special
10.) party 4u holy nite mix - "GROOVE RADAR" Special
11.) Pluto The First - "MINE" Special
12.) Tandava - "GROOVE RADAR" Special
13.) TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX - "TRIP" Special
14.) Vengeance in Cloudland - "GROOVE RADAR" Special
15.) VOL.4 - "Chaos" Special

air - "AIR" Special

What a fitting special for that song title haha. This is a slower file so the jumps aren't that bad to hit.
BPM: 130
Step count: 200
Length: 1:15
Challenge: 8 [X-Scale 11]
AM-3P (303 BASS MIX) - "CHAOS" Special

The synths are 3/16ths and the "ticking" sound has three 8th notes offsetted by a 16th. With that in mind, playing through this file should be a little easier -- it's hard not to screw up with how many offsetted notes there are in this file however.
BPM: 130
Step count: 407
Length: 1:32
Challenge: 9 [X-Scale 13]
CANDY - "STREAM" Special

Prepare for a lot of 8th streaming. It's repetitive and a bit dry but the streams also have some relevance to the song so it's not random 8ths everywhere. Good for warmup if you're only passing 10s and such.
BPM: 192
Step count: 455
Length: 1:31
Challenge: 9 [X-Scale 13]
DEAD END - "GROOVE RADAR" Special

Dead End as a song sounded chaotic and fitting for a groove radar special but the version in Dance Dance Revolution had basically no thought into the patterning. Here I made a groove radar special for Dead End but with patterns that are playable and fit the song more. I put the stepchart on heavy to differentiate it from challenge. The stepchart has exactly 100 holds and 107 jumps.
BPM: 95-190
Step count: 615
Length: 1:38
Heavy: 11 [X-Scale 17]
Goatstep - "VOLTAGE" Special

Voltage specials are about fast speeds. The fast parts in this file go up to 180 BPM 24th trills. It's very hard to score on -- watch out for the ending!
BPM: 180
Step count: 480
Length: 1:53
Challenge: 11 [X-Scale 16]
Look To The Sky - "FREEZE" Special

I would suggest doing the spins the way they're supposed to be done in this chart. It's easy to turn into a pretzel if you're doublestepping intentionally and not doing the steps in their order.
BPM: 140
Step count: 190
Length: 1:32
Challenge: 7 [X-Scale 10]
MAX 300 Super-Max-Me Mix - "GROOVE RADAR" Special

I included sections of Max 300 and Maxx Unlimited in this stepchart (with some slight modifications for the groove radar special part).
BPM: 280-320
Step count: 630
Length: 1:48
Challenge: 12 [X-Scale 17]
New Decade - "AIR" Special

A stamina drainer with fast jumps (200 BPM 8ths), this file requires good technique to play through. It's like getting a taste of Vertex Beta's 8th jumps section.
BPM: 200-400
Step count: 440
Length: 1:29
Challenge: 12 [X-Scale 17]
OUTER LIMITS - "AIR" Special

Over half of the notes in this file are jumps. 420 steps with 225 jumps for a total of 645 max combo if the jumps are counted as 2 steps. Be prepared for a lot of jumping when you play this file -- it's tiring, relentless, and very hard to hit for someone playing files in that level range.
BPM: 85.5-342
Step count: 420
Length: 2:00
Challenge: 11 [X-Scale 16]
party 4u holy nite mix - "GROOVE RADAR" Special

That's quite a mouthful to say haha. This file was originally in Indeed Pad Pack (and is also one of my favorite files from that pack).
BPM: 159
Step count: 536
Length: 1:45
Challenge: 11 [X-Scale 16]
Pluto The First - "MINE" Special

1620 mines. Prepare for a *LOT* of mine dodging. This file might be higher than a 13 but I don't know how to rate dodgeball files. The version in indeed pad pack was executed pretty poorly as there were crossovers in the minestream. In this version the crossovers are removed (but there are still candle steps) and some other parts were changed.
BPM: 100-440
Step count: 590
Length: 1:43
Challenge: 13 [X-Scale 18]
Tandava - "GROOVE RADAR" Special

Credit to hi19hi19 for syncing this epic song. It was used in a tournament back in 2012 and I felt like it would make an excellent groove radar special.
BPM: 181.32-187
Step count: 575
Length: 2:00
Challenge: 11 [X-Scale 16]
TRIP MACHINE PhoeniX - "TRIP" Special

Back in 2011 when I was hosting a spread keyboard tournament I was thinking about making a literal trip machine where the background is a spinning spiral illusion and then the arrows spinned (dizzy modifier). But that was on FFR. In this stepfile there are plenty of stops and crossovers that can trip up a player. If you get tripped up by the stops and patterns in this file then the "trip" part has been achieved!
BPM: 160-320
Step count: 425
Length: 1:33
Challenge: 10 [X-Scale 14]
Vengeance in Cloudland - "GROOVE RADAR" Special

I originally put this down as an X-scale 17 in the Nero's Day at ITGland thread but it might be an 18. The second half is relentless and the jumps are tricky; this is my hardest special as of right now (physically speaking -- Pluto The First is probably the hardest). There are over 100 jumps in the file and it has 200 holds.
BPM: 99
Step count: 640
Length: 1:58
Challenge: 12 [X-Scale 18]
VOL.4 - "Chaos" Special

There's a lot of empty space in this file but it's worse than AM-3P because there are a lot of sounds that could make a player step at the wrong time when there are 16th synths and piano. This file requires a lot of focus on the offsetted notes if the player wants to score on it properly.
BPM: 165
Step count: 230
Length: 1:18
Challenge: 6 [X-Scale 8]
