First of all, if this is in the wrong forum do feel free to move it!
Heads up that the Heart of Gaming video arcade; yes a new arcade dedicated to video gaming opens this weekend. https://www.facebook.com/TheHeartOfGaming?fref=ts
It is in London, Acton zone 2 and the date is this Saturday the 13th of April at 12.
My friend Mark Starkey bought cabs during Funland's closure.
He even had to wait months for the landlord to turn on the electricity (remember the dispute with Family Leisure?) to get the lift working to access the machines.
Setting up a new traditional arcade in this day and age is suicidal, especially as Mark financed and organised this himself. Whether it's successful or not really depends on the more traditional gamer, i.e. people like us. It would be great for people to get the word around and support. I'll be there to write a report for Coin-Op Community/Intergame, and get the link updated in this thread once it's finished.
There will be no rhythm games upon launch HOWEVER between myself and Adam we will have 4 panel and 5 panel machines up and running by the summer. This will be way easier for us to hold tournaments and events in the UK!

Awesome! It's cool to see a new arcade open up no matter where in the world it is. Best of luck to you!
It's great that you'll have dancing games at some point, but what about music games that are still popular? A set of Jubeat or Reflec Beat machines would definitely put your location on the map.

this is always a good news... Arcade merchandise is not going so well outside japan....

Hey guys. The arcade is doing great.
My PIU cab has been there 2 months and is working great. Right now we have Pro 2, Fiesta and NX available. I also have PREX and Exceed which Adam will help me to get up and running.
Adan's cab runs ITG and DDR X3.
Both machines are in perfect conditon... No more pad miss for you!
We are looking to expand on the Bemani range. be patient.
