New Pack in Progress - DDR Throwback

Hello all,

So, I've never posted here before, but I lately got the inspiration to start my own Stepmania Pack of songs. I didn't want to just keep this to myself; I figured other people may be interested and what not. I'm calling the collection "Throwback," not necessarily because it will feature old DDR songs (which it won't, unless they are recut), but because I'm aiming at having music more akin to older DDR music games. There will be more modern music, but I'm hoping to place less of an emphasis on so-called "modern DDR licenses" such as I'm Yours and what not. I want these songs to actually be danceable.

Also, if anyone has any recommendations for songs, I will gladly take them. I have some in mind but I'm trying to aim for a big variety as well Songs will have 4/5 single charts ranging from Beginner to Challenge. I'm looking at having music cuts be around 2:00, like the original In The Groove.

Definite approval here! Though I always thought the song would be more like 206 BPM with some slowdowns... hmm. Whichever path you take is nice. After all, you're the artist.

2 real quick things i need to throw in here:
1. is your user name inspired by the song from the TMNT Coming out Of Their Shells Tour?
2. I don't want to be mean, but this songlist (at least to me)...............is just so much no. If your looking for the older DDR sound, this is probably not the best way to go about it. I see some things that could've ended up in DDR 2010 *gasp*

1) Haha, nah.

2) I know the current songlist is very modern. But expect that to change (although some of the songs on this list, such as Dark In The Night and Hurricane, for example), are over 20 years old. I mean, some of these could have ended up in DDR 2010, you're right. I think it's important to stay a little modern though. Some of these licenses, at least in my opinion, would fit very well in an older DDR game.

But, if you have any suggestions, shoot them away. I'd gladly take them

Honestly my name was inspired by skipping stones at the beach. I'm really bad at it :3 I just wanted something new I suppose lolol

I currently just cut three new songs in the past hour. I'll give out hints to see if ya'll can guess them ;)

1) This song was covered in DDR Hottest Party 2, and the music video for it is very... uhm... likable by men ;)

2) The second song is by an artist who had one song in DDR, and it's from DDR 4th mix. It's a happy hardcore song and it's extremely rare. It also made an appearance in the Dancemania series.

3) This next song is also by a DDR artist who is extremely well known and continues to have longevity as recently as in DDR X. It's about a bird, if that helps ;)

I made a gamble on you being British for some reason.

Anyway, quick note for ya. If you're planning on doing a big release at the end, you've got to be prepared to stick at it the whole time from beginning to end. If you release bit by bit, at least then if you run out of steam halfway through you've got some stuff that you've actually released. Also, good choice with the licences so far, nice mix of genres there. Fifty files is a pretty big ask to do for your first shot so best of luck maintaining the mix throughout. I'll be keeping my eye on this one.

Incidentally on the back of the PS2 Dancing Stage Fever box this song is featured in a snapshot, so it appears that it was PLANNED to be in a DDR, but it never fully made the jump over. Shame, really, it's a beauty of a song.
