Actually, I have a cool story about a real fortune cookie from a few days ago.
I went to a chinese restaurant with some friends. When the waiter brought the bill with the fortune cookies, I noticed that the cookies had chocolate on the bent part.
I don't like chocolate, so I didn't want a cookie.
So I said, "I want a fortune, but I don't want the cookie.".
I broke open a cookie, and took out the fortune, putting the cookie back for someone else to have.
The fortune read, "Some dream of fortunes, others dream of cookies.".

It's pretty much proof that the fortunes in fortune cookies are real.
