I have ordered a virtual private server for trialing for the next seven days, the database will be moved at midnight pacific time, October 5th according to DreamHost.
The site will go down due to the database being moved for a brief period of time.
Please give feedback here if you notice considerable improvement on the site's responsiveness and stability as a result of the move.

Much faster on my end, and more consistent. I haven't had to refresh a partially loaded page yet today! (usually it takes two or three tries to get all the content)

When I click notifications it usually would take 20 seconds to load and now its instant. Pages appear a second or less after I click them, I have had zero problems with loading on any other parts of the site. Definite improvement.
side note: if my signature isn't showing the image its a problem with the site hosting it, not ZIV

Awesome feedback, though I have to make you aware, DH did put the server on its highest RAM setting which will set me back $115 per month if I don't change the 2300MB RAM setting.
I'm aiming for about $22.05 (441MB) per month after the 7-day trial so who knows what it will be like then.
RAM usage according to DH is about 160MB with about 800MB on cache, so setting it down to 441MB would leave 281MB on cache. I hope that's enough...

well that was quick, i thought there were still another 24hrs or less left. but so far no site errors with the high loads.

I have forced a resize of the database server's RAM setting.
Before: 2300MB ($115 / month)
After: 300MB ($15 / month) - this is the minimum setting.
Let me know if there is any impact.
