Last night's call at the end of the game may have been the single worst case of poor officiating i've ever witnessed in my life, and it's probably the worst call of all-time.

This image alone sums up the entire NFL season so far:


I mean, for fuck's sake, if TWO REFEREES can't agree on a call that decides who wins and who loses at the very end of the game, then review the damn play! (By the way, they missed an offensive pass interference call and the Packer's defense intercepted the pass in the endzone. At no point did Tate ever have possession of the ball.)

I understand the hate going on around the NFL right now, and I agree that last night's play was probably the worst I've ever seen. I'm not going to stop watching though for a couple of reasons. One, I'm a sports fan, but football is probably my least favorite sport; the games are usually just background noise anyway. Two, the NFL is a multi-billion dollar industry. The sad truth is that the majority of people are still going to watch games. The NFL frankly doesn't give a shit if it is under enormous amounts of scrutiny right now because they know that there will be no noticeable drop in sales or ratings. And three, shit happens. Look at the Tuck Rule; the Motor City Miracle; the Immaculate Reception. Regular NFL refs have blown games plenty of times, and we're mostly so worked up about this one because of the replacements. Personally, I still believe that the NFL will not exist in 10 years because of concussion lawsuits and fallout.

[rant] Having replacement refs wouldn't be an issue to me if they just knew the actual rules.

HOW ARE YOU UNAWARE OF WHAT TO CALL AND SIGNAL, HAVEN'T YOU TRAINED FOR THIS?
These are the same guys, by the way, that were released from the Lingerie Football League for "Incompetence".

Side Note: The Tuck Rule is the single stupidest thing i've ever heard in my entire existence on the planet, the refs must've smoked some good stuff prior to the game. The Patriots Dynasty doesn't even happen if they make the proper call.

BREAKING NEWS

According to league sources, the NFL has reached an agreement with the Referee Association to end the lockout, effectively ending the need for the Foot Locker stand-ins. The referees will begin starting on Thursday night, and will continue on for the rest of the season.

Of course, fans will still be upset when one of the refs miss a call. However, that's a small price to pay when you consider the pitiful job the replacements did. Now we can all watch football in peace.
