"X scale 20" |
What do you want to see in the next DDR games, the next arcade release after X3 and the next home version if there is one?
It can be in terms of songs, charts, features, etc.
Also, if the next arcade mix is "vs" another one, which mix should it be against?
I'd like to see:
Arcade
*A single X-scale 20 chart like ITG, not like VD on steroids.
*More use of charts like Flower and 2nd mix mode.
*More licenses in the arcade version
Home Version
*On Wii. Wii U won't be popular enough and may not support pads.
*80-100 songs, including the remaining X3 songs.
*Edit mode.

Arcade
More SUPER EUROBEAT licenses.
Revival of 3rd-4th mix Dancemania SPEED songs. (ex: SAINT GOES MARCHING (REMIX))
More J-Pop licenses.
More challenging but not horrible boss songs. (Tohoku EVOLVED is one GOOD example.)
More crossovers from Reflec Beat and jubeat.
Put DIVE back in.
Put back LUV TO ME (AMD MIX) and THE CUBE.

I wish the characters could dance real steps with each song, like in the AC version of DDR X2.
No stupid adaptations of latin reggaeton, like pitbul, w and y, THAT'S NOT MUSIC MAN!
More J and K music.
Some smile. dk, beforu, naoki, 2mb, dj taka songs, THE CLASSIC ONES! (artists)
New remixes for fascination, trip machine, paranoia..
Boss songs, but not IMPOSSIBLE songs..

US/EU AC release with a decent pad and unlock code, puhlease. Even if its screen is 4:3, or only released as upgrade kit. Nuff said.
And reviving BeForU songs would be nice ;)

Already done on X2. BeForU songs not revived on X2 are gone forever.

This thread again...
I'll say what I said in the last thread - new songs (no crossovers) with awesome charts that would make me want to fly to Japan to play.
Basically this. ^

Let's see.. An AC release in the EU that's actually playable would be nice.. EU X2 was a train-wreck, even more so than the US counter-part.
X4 vs.. EXTREME? Not sure really, but there're some songs/charts I'd like to play from EXTREME since the oldest AC mix I've ever played is SN1. (So Deep, and.. yes, Cartoon Heroes..)
If they never bring the other BeForU songs back, I'd at least like to see the ones that were revived for X2 to stay.
As for other songs and charts.. Some more hard 14s/easy 15s, around 270bpm would be nice, since that's where I'm stuck right now
Chances are none of that'll ever happen, but I can dream.

AFAIK they will stay because KONAMI/the respective musician owned the rights to those songs.

Make Shock Arrows as versatile as Freeze Arrows (okay I'll say it, MINES). I know the Japanese are legendary for their personal pride, but you gotta do something more interesting than all or nothing blocks of arrows. You guys took possession of In The Groove, use it! You've managed to eek out a few interesting charts but your miss to hit ratio still makes them look silly.
Be more global with your music selection. As some point in time you've used music from Japan, all over Europe, America, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Why not do all of that at the same time? Make each mix worth something meaningful on their own by making them a compilation of danceable music from around the world. Both the Billboard artists and the up and comers (you've used both and made both work in the past). Even if your misguided intent is to release the game in one region, trust me, the whole world is going to play it eventually.
If you're going to pay homage to games of the past, put more effort into it. 2ndMIX Mode was an excellent idea... that was executed half-heartedly. Missing key music, juxtaposed content, errors and glitches everywhere... It was wonderful to have that classic songs and experience back for modern players to enjoy, but it hurt to see it thrown together with such disregard. Go the extra mile to make the experience truly authentic, fans of the series will appreciate it.
Other things that cross my mind:
If you won't release an arcade in a region, at least release a console version. But before you do...
Your console step chart creators, fire them. Fire them all.
Allow edit charts to be created and used for the ENTIRE library of a mix, returning songs included.

I'm guessing this refers to X3 disallowing edits of X2/X3 songs.

If they are gonna make a 20 X-scale, it will be like VD overdosing steroids.
I mean look at the other (single) 19. Damn, POSSESSION D-.

It refers to their not having been a decent edit chart system since EXTREME.

It's pretty decent for me... on J/A cabs, that is. Though it require you to own all JP CS games. Worry not, there's still DDReditMAX2 though.

While this is true as far as 19 charts goes, look at PRevo Double Challenge.

Since I play almost nothing but the CS versions...
For the next Wii game (big inhale):
-At least as many songs as DDRII
-Every new KO from DDR X3
-New KO's with decent charts unlike DDR 2010
-Licenses that I actually want to dance to. (More along the lines of SuperNOVA 1/2 and Universe 3)
-Licenses that have non-shock arrow challenge charts
-Good judgements do not continue combo.
-Get rid of the blue screen filter from DDR 2010 and DDRII
-The song select screen keeps the selected song centered on the screen like DDR X2 and 3 instead of like DDr 2010/DDRII
-The full combo splash from the DDR X series
-Lots of songs missing from past CS versions, such as PARANOiA -Respect- -MAX. (period), and the La'mour et la Liberte Remix
-Lots of new 14-15 charts
-No more Jun boss songs
-Lots of challenge charts
-A small handful of revivals, possibly with brand new challenge charts
-More characters that weren't in DDRII, like PiX and Rage, and maybe some new ones
-Get rid of Lesson by DJ songs
-Customizable menu themes
-New BG stages
-More new songs with BG videos
-Scoring identical to arcade versions, where AAAs don't require all perfects.
-BG videos full screen instead of in a tiny box in the corner
-Edit mode
-Endless mode/ battle mode and other advance modes
-Information mode
-Marvelous stars / enjoy level as an unlock method
-Lots of DLC songs from past mixes, done right this time!

Yeah, I do agree that it's not bad... I think I have to agree with Daiz here. For a 19 to be good it has to be doubles. Singles would just shit crossovers everywhere.

I didn't get this until I realized you could swipe through the songs on-screen with your Wii-mote. It works like the 4thMIX selector so you don't accidentally send Coverflow flying off in one direction.
