Think about it: DDR is the perfect combination of sport and competitive game. Why shouldn't it have a league if many games already have one?
Well, here's a reason: online sucks. Please, Konami, put a modern online system into the next DDR.
In the meantime SM5 could be used... somehow. I think this would be pretty cool.

It will never work as Konami's whole exercise theme is dying out with stuff like playstation move and kinect as much as I hate to praise both of them. Besides to the general public every says that DDR is just "That weird techno" game. I still have hope though being a fan for so long.
Also didn't they already have this kind of thing in DDR Universe?
NOTE: I'm not in any means trashing DDR but there popularity now isn't what it used to be. Adding in Online would give more reason to poke fun and insult DDR and the players who play it.

DDR is already highly competitive in Japan, though it's still not an official sport in Japan yet (though it's weird that only Norway recognizes DDR as a sport).
