Extreme Doubles AAAs Legit?

Alright, this debate has been going on for a while now (which started here), although I (and many other people also, I'm sure) really want to resolve this once and for all. So here's a new thread for (see question above).

I'll start with a PM that I received recently [sender wants to be anonymous]. I watched the videos he attached, and the performance itself is impressive, no doubt, but I still have a few problems concerning the two attached videos and the legitimacy of the machine: first, why are the videos unlisted? [No wonder I wasn't able to find the videos until now!] And why does the first video have the "likes" disabled? That alone makes me suspicious already. Next, notice the speaker lights below the screen. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a genuine DDR machine is supposed to have them light up to the DP- chart and each step stays lit for a few tenths of a second. The ones in the video flash way too quickly the way I see it. My conclusion is that the machine itself is not a genuine DDR machine, but as for the computer itself, I'm still uncertain about. I'm new to this entire debate, so I'm sure other people have more information to share.

EDIT: Oops, it looks like the "proof" just went "missing" again. It looks I have a few things to sort out before I can form a solid opinion on this.

EDIT #2: I just received several PMs from this same guy arguing for Kyle in this debacle, but something still seems suspicious about them, as he wants to keep this whole debate private. Now I want to know: do you want to continue this debate, or let it slide?

Right im just gonna put this out here on this account i made years ago when i lost my password to my old one.

The videos are private on Kyle's request as he gets harrased nonstop over the whole LODTDM and Paul o grady fiasco whenever he puts up an achievement, im fed up of the messages i get in my inbox over it and he's fed up of reading them, i made them unlisted for a few days so Dr.D and Senshinbyou could take a look as they both queried about them, and the above user. However since the links were then posted publically ive had to physically delete the videos off the youtube account because the last thing we want to see is the videos being posted on other peoples pages leading to yet more pages upon pages of references and jokes over something that wasnt even funny 6 years ago.

In response to your argument about the cabinet lights however which is solely what your argument was based on:

I linked you to that in a pm but i dont think you're going to read it, two runs are in that video played simultaneously and the cabinet lights are in no way consistent at all, it happens when the bulbs are starting to fail or have been subject to too much cold etc.

Just to clarify this score was infact done legitimately, as seen by the lights. Just to sum things up though, just because lights work doesn't always mean its a legitimate score. I know in this instance that it is though, because the owner of the machine wouldn't of knew how to get them working with anything other than the real article.

I hope this resolves any doubts about PSMO doubles. Definitely question any UK AAA on that machine until a lights video is presented.

Okay, I can let this issue slide (unless someone else wants to object). I just hope someone in the US or Japan will be able to do the same thing (with proof, of course) in the near future.

It's not really a case of that level of proof to be needed, its just that machine became labelled when the owner starting running Beware's instead. (Max 300 AAA..)

If anyone else was to AAA I'd take it at face value. Nobody else that I can recall claims StepMania scores as real, which is why PSMO was doubted in the first place.

If it is done on an X3 machine, proof is trivial. The eAmuse record will verify it. As it stands right now, the record for Paranoia Survivor Max Challenge Double is :

Which would be a single great I believe.

Other than that that I look at the old records (Perfect Attack 2.0 and Skill Attack for older records from mixes like Extreme) and the new ones from the eAmuse network, I think everything else from DDR Extreme was done on double (including Maxx Unlimited and LOM)

There are many songs in later mixes that have never been PFCd, though.

Getting pad and machine lighting to work with stepmania is very possible, in fact I have done just that with OpenITG just a few months ago. If you were using pad lights on stepmania they would work differently, more specifically the lighting would likely be setup to act like DDR lighting. However it will probably never be emulated perfectly, which can also be said about themes and other things having to do with stepmania so if there is a flaw somewhere someone should be able to point something out.

Now onto the excuses. That is EXTREMELY shady. It feels like they are trying to cover up a secret which automatically wants me to assume the score is absolutely fake. What Adrei said about posting it to youtube really doesn't back up his claim. Who cares if there will be negative votes/comments or messages. You can ignore them... Its honestly really stupid if you are going to complain about something like that when you have absolutely no evidence besides a shady picture to backup your claim.

My verdict? Absolutely fake. He is just trolling, and until I see a video made PUBLICLY available after this entire fiasco and get some more opinions upon its legitimacy, I would definitely treat it as a fake score.

Kyles PSMO doubles is 100% legit. Anything else without backup proof is fake (Maxx-storms PSMO singles, Kyles PSMO singles)

I know the guy who owned the machine, its definitely legit if the lights work. He did not know how to get lighting working, as no tutorials/easy solutions were available at that time, nor was I going to help him achieve that.

At one stage, we were all friends but this got out of hands as it has already tore the UK community up, I really don't want this being continued.

I'm going to lock this thread, unless any objection is made.
