Title.
If I recall correctly, in the arcade at least, 5thMIX and before were 30fps, and DDRMAX and after were 60fps.
PS1 games were 30fps, and PS2 and after were 60fps.
That might be way off though, can someone enlighten me?

I think DDR 1st Mix until DDR 4th Mix (Including Extra Mix on PS1) = 30 fps.
DDR 5th Mix = 60 fps both on PS1 and Arcade.
DDR MAX: 6th mix until DDR X3 = 60 fps.

NeoRevenG is right. 5th and up = 60 ftp, before that it's all 30FPS (including the solo series).

Here's a weird thing I've noticed.
When playing the 1999 game Dancing stage feat. Dreams Come True, the frame rate was incredibly smooth, so much so I would say it is well above 30, seemingly 60fps. It also has some high speed mods.
The fact that later mixes were not developed in this way, I do not understand!

CT, decide for yourself, certainly doesn't look 30fps to me, especially when playing.

I've played on someone's machine that had Dreams Come True on it and I noticed it was smooth as well. My guess is that it was developed by a different team than the standard DDR AC mixes. I don't understand why DDR wasn't 60 FPS from the get go. It's not like DDR is a processor intensive game.

Absolutely.
I would suspect it was made in co-ordinance with the guys responsible for Dreams Come True music.
It was really quite interesting to play, for such an early 4-panel games, the songs weren't THAT off sync, the idea of speed modifications was a fantastic one, good selection of music and modes.
Only complaint I'd have is the access to all the content being so difficult to work your way around.
Lots of fun had with this mix, though.
And the slightly creepy announcer.

I kinda read somewhere that DDR Solo 2000 and I guess the Japan only Dancing Stage games had higher than 30 fps but lower than 60 fps.
It may have been on the old bemanistyle forums.
