So, I had an idea for a stepfile for Glad You Came by The Wanted. I drew my steps out on paper first. The grand total came to 431 combos. What I want to know is if maybe I should cut out some arrows that I think don't fit or if I should trim the song cut or if I should leave as is. The song cut I used is from about :20 to 2:25.

I'd say the more important features of a chart are how well it complements the music and whether the patterns are natural and interesting - final combo count isn't as big a deal. If you think some arrows don't fit, it's your call.
Also I'd think you'd have an easier time transcribing your ideas in stepmania than on paper
