SN....The best?

........*ahem*

Well to each his own I suppose.

It would probably be Extreme or Max2, even though they're so old now that they get pretty boring.

Oh, and Solo Bass 2000 for MY BABY MAMA.

On a side note, SN2 is looking pretty solid so far, if it keeps it trend of charts like CapitvAte, votum stellarum, Blind Justice, Angelus etc. it will rank pretty high.

My heart goes out to 4th mix or 4th mix plus. Miss those wonderful days.....
Althought SN2 does seem to hit that sweet spot in my heart.

SN is the best simply because of the quality. They made a really big jump from Extreme to the dedicab for SN. And it's running off of a PS2 instead of a PS1.

the more i see of SN2, the more i dont like it. the groove radar charts are awfull, NGO oni is pretty terrible, and trip machine phoenix is pretty bad too(although i like the song). the best charts are the 7s and 8s, anything that trys to be hard fails at being a good chart.

i say that 7th mix wins. the stuff from 6th mix, plus the revival choices on top of the new material and oni courses is a winning combination.

I agree with your thoughts on NGO oni and the Groove Radar charts. I disagree with your thoughts on TMP. I think it's a great chart; It tries something different, but doesn't go completly overboard like the Groove Radar charts do.

The oni is yet to be seen....

Also: I'm still holding out hope that NGO oni has been changed from the Location Test. Tongue

Uh...we have? I've seen no videos of NGO oni from any Japanese machine. Just the two videos from the NJ test, where NGO wasn't even supposed to be unlocked.

Since it looks like the console version of SN2 is coming out before the arcade version, I'm worried that it might not come to America. What if this turns out to be another "Extreme 2", where it was just a console version? In fact, I'm really worried. Green Grin

Um...It's coming to America. They wouldn't have held a location test if it wasn't. Remember that the 2008 date is COMPLETLY UNOFFICIAL and was given by a BETSON employee who has nothing to do with its development, only distribution.

all our games untill SN1 were console only, as there were no US arcade releases.

Likewise, only except that the 5th mix im closest to is 2 hours away (but its worth it Big Grin ).

Dspite having some good revivial songs, the new songs on Extreme are bad and also come with lame double charts.

Considering that it's the only way to play Romance no Kamisama, and other good songs like Cat's Eye and Moonlight Shadow, 5th Mix.

Yeah, here they're both in the same arcade... was glad they got rid of their Extreme Plus bootleg in favor of the SN1, as they originally were talking about ditching the 5th Mix, but popular demand insisted on the dodgy bootleg being scrapped.

I've heard people use the rather accurate analogy of describing the jump from Extreme to SN1 as being roughly the same as GF/DM's jump from 11/10 to V... the interface is cleaner, the graphics are clearer, smoother, and sharper, and the sound quality is greatly improved... those things alone do wonders, and some of which were probably a long time coming with SN (mainly because Konami had moved to the PS2-based system for V a year and a half prior, and IIDX had been working off of a solid PC-based platform since 9th Style, three years before SN1).

Finally someone who agrees with me about the quality of SN1!

graphics dont make a dancing game. i would prefer a game with the step quality of 3rd through extreme, and the home versions up to extreme 2/strike that looks like its on a psone to a game with supernova's quality of step charts and superb graphics. unfortunately, supernova only excells at doubles, i've yet to find a doubles chart i didnt like on it. singles is just bad.

also, extreme has superb doubles charts, i cant believe someone said they were bad.

5.1.1.
be in my paradise
jam jam reggae
r3
genom screams
janajana
sakura heavy
the least 100 sec
mikenko rock
colors heavy
psmo

i could keep listing songs that are awesome on doubles, but i'll stop there. the club version songs had doubles charts written for extreme, btw, thats why i put those in the list. club version lacks doubles, and songs like 5.1.1. on ddr max or genom screams on konamix actually have the same charts for standard and heavy on doubles.
