Today in PE we were playing volleyball and I heard Ordinary World by Duran Duran. Needless to say I sang along.
I also recall hearing Take Me Away (Four Strings) in a Jimmy Neutron commercial at some point a long time ago.

One time I listened to DDR songs all afternoon in real life.
Also, sometimes I hear "Only Girl In The World" and "Just The Way You Are" on the radio, which is weird because they are also in DDR II.

More than likely, you'll hear the pop/licensed songs more than anything else. I hear my roommate playing these songs often:
Closer / Ne-Yo
Beautiful Monster / Ne-Yo
In My Head / Jason Derulo
I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) / Pitbull
I'm sure there are others, but this is all I remember.
I also tried out Dance Central 2 for a while. That was pretty fun.
Songs in both DDR and Dance Central games:
I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) / Pitbull
Just Dance / Lady Gaga
Somebody to Love / Justin Beiber
Whip My Hair / Willow
Nothin' On You / B.o.B feat. Bruno Mars
Only Girl in the World / Rihanna
Days Go By / Dirty Vegas
Toxic (though the versions in each game are different)
Let me know if I missed any songs.

I remember during sssome olympics or ice skating when DDR Freak was still marginally alive, everyone was flipping out over "omg dude they played V" or more specifically Vivaldi's Winter.
My arcade played Ghosts at their lazer tag arena before they changed the theme.

I remember back in High School there was a commercial for a club that was shown during our school announcements. The song that was playing during that commerical was butterfly and everyone in the class started staring at me. I was very well known as the DDR and Rock Band kid during school, and it seems most people in the class were familiar with the song Butterfly being on DDR, and me being associated with said game series. I, myself, had nothing to do with the song on the announcements, but I am sure people in the class thought I did.

I remember hearing Battle Without Honor or Humanity on one of the past Superbowl games. Also, my local news played Block Rockin' Beats whenever they mentioned any basketball news.
Also, Jerk it Out used to be played on Circuit City commercials(before the chain shut down)
My mom set her ringtone to Winter from seasons and when it went off, all I thought about was V!

I remember that time around 2002 when I turned on the radio and THE WHISTLE SONG played. Good times.

Jerk it Out was in iPod and Coca-Cola commercial
And also, I heard 'Me Against the Music' (original, not cover) played on local radio around 2010

I'm confused about this topic. Yes, I've heard licenses because, well, they're licenses I've heard before playing DDR. I remember this show (I think it was called tournament of masters or something) where a guy tried doing a 250 combo on can't stop falling in love speed mix... while juggling three torches. He didn't do it, but he cleared the song and won the episode. Also, I remember a girl on jeopardy talked about her obsession of DDR during the break segment. Finally, I remember waka laka playing in a laser tag arena once.

I've heard Drop the Bomb a couple times outside of playing DDR. Once at school, and the other I was at McDonalds and I just heard it playing on their radio... Kind of weird.

Glad I wasn't the 1st person to have thought of that scene! (And tbh, I have NEVER seen the actual flick!)

Flowers and TSUGARU were used in a collegiate "cheerdancing" competition in my country.

One of my old dolls play the song "Butterfly" whenever I squeeze it. Since then, my sisters started singing to it and sang some lyrics wrong. (like "green, black, and blue" changed to "we like to move")

I heard PARANOiA being played on a mixed martial arts show once when I was changing channels on the TV.
321STARS was also played on the radio as a background for an advertisement.
And, CARTOON HEROES (original version) was used for a cheer dance competition at our school

There's an episode of King of the Hill where the family goes to Japan to meet a half-brother and Bobby inevitably finds a DDR machine. First he plays That's the Way (I Like It) and as he gets better plays U Can't Touch This... long before DDR X came out.

"Dansu!"
I also remember hearing Sweet World (In The Groove 2) on an old episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

I was sitting in a Japanese restaurant and they were playing Sakura (not the DDR version obviously). It took me a second to recognize it but I did.
In fact, I hear a ton of licensed stuff I heard on DDR first and I tell my wife "oh I know this song" and she immediately goes "what mix?"

Considering really the POINT of licence choices is to have stuff that people know, hearing a licence on the radio (especially for the DDR games from about 2008 onward when they went more popular-oriented) and going "OMG IT'S ON DDR" is probably a bit silly.
Aaaanyway, not DDR I know, but the ITG songs D-Code and Lipstick Kiss feature in Amped 3's cutscenes and main menu. Also they once put Know Your Enemy in a Top Gear episode.
