It's probably more likely that StepManiaX would get those sorts of licenses. Like, it's not totally unheard of for DDR to have rock and metal, but most of the time it's in house or commissioned stuff and DDR seems to like stick to its specific identity. SMX does have stuff like Machinae Supremacy and Electric Callboy already so I don't think any of the artists you mentioned would be totally out of the question.

I think flashn00b might just be a fan of those artists, they've posted about Napalm records and those artists many times on ZiV. Not surprised a rhythm game fansite has nerds with hyperfixations haha.

1. About the trajectory of DDR A3. I think it will continue add electro songs only, but not to see a big upgrade. We still seeing the same disgusting announcer, the same dance stages and the same character for me 10 years. The formula is so repetitive, i miss the era when DDR using song to make story like x or planets songs like SN2.
2. I say thanks that this not happened, this would be the worst decision for Konami and Bemani. Forntunetly this project kept s in beta. It see that they made with low budget: theme which seems made by stepmania in a simple way, dancefloor and dancer reciclying from Dance Evolution, https://zenius-i-vanisher.com/v5.2/thread?threadid=10156 ....... yes DDR ULTIMATE MOBILE.
3. For the anniversary, i see innecesary to make "remakes" to previus DDR songs as Have you never been mellow or Sky high. (about that remake songs, sucks, i didn't like them) DDR could have been back the nostalgia bringing new dancemania songs and discover new artists, it's wasn't neccesary to back previus songs.

With R1 and SMX apparantly coming to a deal to get new cabs in stores, how long until the already weak amount of cabs running the latest version of DDR shrinks even more? In my opinion whatever the sequel to A3 is won't be coming to D&B at all and will only see extremely limited availability in a handful of R1s.

I can't tell if you're joking or not but Dave & Busters A3 has been dead for a good while. IIRC D&B pulled out of the agreement with Konami.

In defense of of my fanboying of Napalm Records, I think an argument in favour of a more euro-centric DDR soundtrack can be made in three words: Laser. Shooting. Dinosaur.
You don't have to defend anything haha. It's just that Dancing Stage has always been mostly europop licenses. DS Fusion was a mix of random licenses and covers (several of which were in Extreme US CS). I could see maybe one pop-infused metal track making its way into a DDR release, but StepManiax seems to be picking the fun obscure euro lisences right now.
This banger was on DS Fusion though, but it was a *checks Wikipedia* top 20 hit in Germany

Doubles charts saw an improvement in quality with Ultramix 2 and peaked with DDR X

I'm normally a grumpy old "DDR's golden age ended when SuperNOVA came out" player, but yeah, doubles mode is a different story.
In my opinion, Konami didn't figure out how to make consistently good doubles charts until around X, and the non-boss songs have been good since then. But like you said, Ultramix 2 was an early outlier, having very good doubles charts. Extreme 2 and Ultramix 3 weren't bad, either.

I feel nowadays that the games's aesthetics all look the same and kind of the "generic" futuristic style, especially with Bemani's newest music games
Compare the aesthetics of the old Beatmania IIDX and Pop'n Music to the newer games. To me, they don't feel as creative as they once did. Also, Dance Around and Polaris Chord look like the same game visually

I wouldn't call this controversial honestly because the majority feel this way. I agree! The game was a massive flop from the start, DOA. The massive grind to unlock difficulties and the harder charts you can unlock are not even worth it because they're not even challenging at all, which would demotivate anyone from sticking with the game, the lackluster songlist, and the fact that this isn't under Bemani is confusing because it's a rhythm game produced by Konami. I don't know who this was supposed to appeal to, but Konami missed the mark. Also it was really dumb for arcades to get massive amounts of these(In some cases I noticed, Bemani games like IIDX are getting replaced to put 6 or 8 of these things in arcades like this was gonna be the next big money maker for them

I disagree with this. Generic? I don't think so, specially IIDX. Epolis has a whole cool city asthetic, with fashion and a radio station mixed in, I think they're being hella creative lately, and each mode has a different BGM which is a first for the series. I think they're trying at least a little to be different and creative with every iteration, and considering they only have a year to make each version due to the cycles, I'm kinda impressed with what they come up with within that year. And compared to older styles? IIDX was cyber mixes for 11 styles from 1st style to IIDX RED, they were even less creative back then. IIDX lacked proper theming back then. What do you mean? Also pop'n got even more creative today too. The UniLab theme is probably the best pop'n has looked in ages. Honestly have you even been playing the newer mixes or even looked at them or the events? Because I don't know what you mean by generic and they all look the same, because quite frankly I think you're very very wrong, because I think the recent Bemani games have been looking pretty stellar and unique. You can't form a proper opinion without at least experiencing anything of the current bemani because judging by your statement, I feel like you haven't been looking at or playing anything current at all, so how can you form this opinion? Seriously dude lol.

Nah don't apologize you're fine. I just disagree that the modern games compared to the classic Bemani games are definitely more creative and less samey than the classic games. Look at 1st style to IIDX RED, they've been overusing cyber theming in classic era, versus the current version IIDX EPOLIS. Epolis has a whole city vibe going on with sub theming of a DJ Radio Station and Fashion. Each mode has a different BGM, Step Up mode you compete in the fashion district to earn new clothes for your avatar, the events you're city building and earning new songs as you build up your districts and restoring different districts in the new one, there's a whole new set of things going on that make modern Bemani so creative and there's WAY more to do to earn different things in the newer games than in the classic era. That's all I'm saying. I'm trying to broaden your depth on the games because you saying that statement makes it like the team isn't being creative with the games which isn't true. if you look at everything the modern era is bringing with creativity, I think compared? Modern is bringing more to the table visually and gameplay wise than classic ever did.

Dancerush could be THE rhythm game if Konami gave it a new version and put it in more American arcades. It has more casual appeal than DDR especially with the songlist and dance styles.
