Asia/JPN: End of the Century is available, Dynamite rave is the original (on US ver it's the new version), the courses are harsher graded compared to US versions.
Other than that... no real differences between the Asia and Japanese one.

Differences:
* Cabinets: Asia uses the pre-X cabinet. US/EU uses a cheaper version of the JP cab, with a lot of changed parts which comes from GH Arcade. (Thanks, Raw Thrills).
* Software: Your edits from J cabinets don't work outside J/A versions. Also there's some difference in songs/stepcharts (X-X2)
* Online mode: (X2): X2 software for U/E cabs is in local mode only.
* Language: Of course. J/A: Japanese. U: English. E: English, Spanish, Italian, French, German.
* e-amuse availability hits every place.

Other minor differences:
DDR X2 EU/NA can never unlock deltaMAX CHALLENGE even with MAX unlock.
DDR X2 EU/NA has no character select.

Raw Thrills/Betson only make machines for Konami games, they certainly are not the same.

Some answers.
--
* Raw Thrills is not Konami. Raw Thrills is a Arcade manufacturer. Raw Thrills MADED the cabinet.
* Betson was the one which distributed Konami games across the Americas (Electrocoin does the same in Europe) - Betson did not made the cabinet
* GF/DM and some Konami games cannot be officially distributed/in sales for other regions (unless authorization given from the KDE HQ) (Operators sell the cabinets to others operators trough 3rd Party sales, like channelbeat)
* GH Arcade is dead now. No plans to further support.
--
I hope the future turns more clear.

Also if there is a bug with any of the games, they have been fixed via e-amuse in Japan and Asia. In North America and Europe if the problem it may not have been patched.
Asian DDR X/X2 will not allow you to input unlock codes without an update from Konami.
DDR X in North America and Europe have many lag issues. Its not all just timing based either, the computers they run on are pretty much "minimal" which causes the game to hiccup occasionally.

Asian DDR X machines accept the unlock codes, X2s do not.

"Oh god what I have dooooone?!" |
good to recap this info. given that hopefully an arcade will be getting an x2 in new zealand in the coming weeks/months the cabinet type could decide how successful it is.
