Hello Everyone,

I am a newbie to StepMania (and obviously to this forum). I recently purchased a usb dance pad and since then I've been looking for good songs to play. Specifically, songs that are longer than 2/2.5 minutes (or full length; for work out/exercising purposes).

I've also been trying to search for "Audition Online" songs. I was able to find simfiles for over 100 Audition songs, however, all of them seem to be available only on hard mode. As stated above, I am new to StepMania and DDRs in general. Simply put, I can only do songs on BEGINNER and EASY modes. I still cannot do songs on medium, believe it or not. xD

Anyway, here are my favorite Audition songs:
(They are in alphabetical order. Additionally, I have all .MP3 files. They are also available in a forum called "GamerzPlanet.")

1. 3254 Techno Party Simfile here!
2. Destiny
3. Euro Machine
4. Get On The Floor
5. Heavy Metal Syndrome
6. Night
7. Spain Moonlight
8. Swan Lake
9. You're Already Gone Simfile here!

I don't mean to sound like I'm barking orders, but for the sake of clarity, the following are my preference.:
- I am playing on a Dance Pad.
- Beginner/Easy Modes. (and Medium for when I get better? xD)
- **If possible**, Full length songs would be great.

And that pretty much sums it all up, I think?
Sorry about the wall of text and if I appeared rather bossy. I just really am dying to play these songs. >.<

I appreciate any help. Thank You,
CaveJohnson.

Welcome to the ZIv forum, CaveJohnson, and welcome to Stepmania! Happy

I can probably step some of those songs for you, but it'd be easier if you pointed me to the hard ones with links. I can use those for syncing the song up properly. Wink

So, you're a beginner. I recommend checking out http://dgdict.webs.com/ as there's a ton of terminology involved with this game (as well as some very similar ones), learning some of that may help. And if you don't read it right away, that's fine.

First question: Should any of these stepcharts use any special techniques to help you practice or learn about them better, like crossovers or spins? They don't have to be super fast, and I think learning about them early on may help you advance to Medium better.

Second question: How concerned are you with the patterns actually following the rhythm of the song? Because that's also a major part of DDR/ITG/Stepmania, and if people are making much harder charts, the songs are probably more rhythmically complex. Myself, I would prefer rhythms that match but aren't too fast for beginners, but I want your opinion before I get started.

Third, final, very simple but still somewhat necessary question: Which version of Stepmania have you downloaded?

Also, personally I don't think you were too bossy; making Beginner and Light charts is pretty easy and doesn't take too much time even if you put a decent effort into them. (And I have a lot of free time anyway...)

Hello Arrows&Beats,

Thank you for the warm welcome and the quick response!

This is where I found the simfiles.: [ http://www.bemanistyle.com/forum/f98/audition-online-pack-release-now-45291/ ]
The file size is quite big (424 mb), for there are over 100 songs. Additionally, only the MegaUpload link is working. : Which is this one right here.: [ http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WT9NILKL ]
If it would be easier for you, I could upload the songs that I have listed above. Let me know, and I'll get to it asap. :) Though, I'm not sure if that would be considered stealing. lol. xD And do you know of any good free file hosting websites (or which would you prefer)?

Also, thank you for the Dance Game Dictionary. I can see that it will come in handy. I've actually seen people use those acronyms/words, and I was wondering what it meant. It is very helpful. Thank You!

As for your questions, I will try my best to answer them accordingly. However, as long as you think that they are appropriate for beginners, I'm completely fine with that. :)

Now to answer the questions:
1. It would be great if you could include a few of those special techniques. :)
2. I think we may have similar preferences here! I find it extremely fun when each step matches the beats/rhythm of the song. I hope that answers question #2. xD
3. Lastly, I am using StepMania v5.0 Preview 4.

Additional Information (I hope this helps you identify my capabilities):
My current favorite song to play is More Than Alive - The Ready Set.:
I play it on Easy mode. The mode after Beginner. It is challenging to me, but fun to play. Though I wouldn't say it's hard.

Again, Thank You so much for your response! I appreciate everything. :) ,
CaveJohnson.

Just updating the thread. Random bump to let everyone know that it isn't dead.

"Who says that!!"
Why not try making EXPERT stepcharts? BEGINNER to DIFFICULT stepcharts are quite easier if you put effort into it as Arrows&Beats mentioned.

Jorellpd,

Pardon me, as stated, I am new to StepMania and I am not sure how to create simfiles. Of course I could just try to learn it and make the songs myself, however, that contradicts this entire sub-forum as well as my forum post. I suppose if this request might be bothering others, I could just stop updating this thread. Additionally, my college will start again soon, so I will be busy. Nonetheless, I appreciate any/the help and responses.

Thank You,
CaveJohnson.

I could make some easy charts to these songs if you want. Could you tell me what some of your favorite songs are specificially? There are like 100 songs and I'm not sure which ones you'd want. I would make Beginner, Easy, and Standard level charts.

You could take a look at my simfiles. Quite honestly though, it's better that you do 2/2.5 minute songs, because that's basically the standard length (Also known as Revision 23) in ITG.

My simfiles are full-difficulty simfiles, and each one is unique in it's own way.

Thank You so much!! It's all good if it is cut. Like I said before, it is optional, and any help is appreciated. :)
Again, thank you for taking your time and creating these!! *-*

Also, thank you for making additional difficulties!
