To make things simple, I've been spending the past week or so mocking up some images for a Dance Central inspired theme I wanted to make for SM5. It's rather simple, but that's what I liked about the Dance Central interface. A sort of "Just jump in and play!" feel with not so many distracting elements. I wanted to get the same sort of effect for a Stepmania theme.
However, I'm at an utter loss when it comes to coding the theme myself, so I'm here looking for somebody who may be interested in helping out with the project. As well as to see if there's any interest for such a theme.
Here are the mock ups I have so far:

Edit: Sorry, I seem to be having trouble with the screens.

I'd be interested in helping code the theme. This does look very nice.

Awesome!
I have to say I'm not entirely aware of how to make an entire theme from scratch, I've only modified some.
So I hope this can turn out pretty decent in the end. haha

Just to note, the previous practice from 3.9 of making themes be duplicates of Default is now deprecated. SM emulates the theme structure of ITG by making themes inherit Fallback, a special bare-bones theme that defines all the major metrics. By making a theme.
These are the two main files you need to start
metrics.ini
[Global]
FallbackTheme=_fallback
FallbackTheme=_fallback
and themeinfo.ini, which lets you set a display name and author for ScreenInit and the options menu
[ThemeInfo]
DisplayName=Theme Name
Author=Author
DisplayName=Theme Name
Author=Author

I just noticed this, the images actually look really cool I hope this ends up being a real theme because it certainly deserves to be!

Good Theme. Actually, the state of the theme is in WIP?
