Well, as far as I know, us in the western world aren't getting X3s. If that's the case, is there much of a future for us? Perhaps Konami is just going to be doing console-only releases? As much as I wish they'd let us use upgrade kits to upgrade our Extremes/SN/SN2s, I don't see that happening any time soon. If consoles only is the case, I'm hoping that they'd at least let us have a more wide selection when choosing a style of home mat. I have money, I want to spend it on DDR, I can't really support Konami unless they give us releases. I would really like it if Konami had more than just those thin plastic mats, perhaps thick ones, or even metal ones... But again, I don't think that's going to be happening any time soon, so I figured maybe some of y'all have different opinions on the matter.

Well, think of it this way...
If Betson or whatever doesn't want to make them and the arcades won't get the NA/EU cabs built, then the arcades will have to act into getting a JP X3 or JP X2's.

Or... Konami could start exporting the Jap machines with EU/NA software (but this hypothesis is highly unlikely? I love my optimism sometimes!)

you should wait until a future announce, either Konami or Betson (the official distributor)
The game has just been released to Japan (not even Asia yet), so, you should be wait for upcoming announces. (like the release for Asia region, after Konami Arcade Championship Asia)
-
That rumours came from bmigaming.
-
Also, remember North America and Europe are not the only territories who gets Konami arcades. Latin America, Asia and Oceania too.

After KAC-A got finished, X3 will land in Asian territories, with only Singapore, Korea, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong the countries with e-amusement
-
If no announce is made, X3 will be shceduled to summer 2012 for Americas and KDE-E territories.
-
Still, the U/E versions lacks of features, because the lack of e-AMUSEMENT service, better Edit Data and additional services.

Alright a couple things...
a. X3 came out like you know... YESTERDAY! We won't hear about it coming to America at least for months. It took about 6 months after X2 came out in Japan for America to get it. I would expect maybe an announcement about it in Spring, and a release in Summer. Konami and Betson have never stated that it isn't going to get released. You guys really, really, need to stop listening to the flase claims that BMI gaming makes, they have posted so many things incorrectly in the past.
b. Konami isn't interested in making other types of mats because DDR is a very small market. In fact in Japan, Konami tried to produce an arcade style controller as well has a foam pad. The arcade style controller never sold (its cost I believe over $1,000) and the foam pads just weren't popular enough to keep selling and producing. 3rd party companies have also done the job quite well for years which even deferred the need more to produce such mats.

Due to poor sales, its very unlikely that we will see X3 in EU. I'll keep you posted as I have sent emails to the correct people to shed light on this.

Still in short words
* Any rumor MUST BE confirmed or denied by official source. Konami, or Betson/Electrocoin (depend of your location)
* X3 has birth some hours ago. Should wait for the upcoming release or tests in US or Europe, next months.
* -poke- email Konami Arcade division won't solve this. (usually, they didn't answer)

Did you check the arcade locator? If that gives you nothing, go scout all your local arcades for one!Post #14 · Posted at 2011-11-18 03:02:42am 13.9 years ago

You guys probably aren't looking.
You know the locations feature doesn't work if no one does anything.

If X2 spat out tickets for playing or had some feature where you could win tickets after playing depending on how well you did (and only put it in say happy mode) it'd probably be in every arcade in the country by now, obviously would have helped if it was actually playable too

That sounds like a cool idea, to spew out tickets.
I could have gotten a ps3 or something of that value if it gave out tickets.
