sadly that's what happens when Konami cuts corners with the design...

"Oh god what I have dooooone?!" |
I think 'awful' would be a sad understatement. Like all betson cabinets, they are terrible. You can tell just by bloody looking at the things.
They look cheap, they look nasty. Compare it to a japanese dedicab and bang, they look even worse.
You can really see why they're a 3rd of the price of japanese cabinets, and yet ironically people still don't want to buy them.

I don't think Betson MAKE them since the exact same cabs are also distributed in Europe...

I like the X2 cabinets, they are a vast improvement over the original design. The only downside is that they need maintenance to keep them in good shape.

I played on a Japanese X dedicab once. It was awful...then again it was probably just the pads that were dead. You had to slam on the sensors for them to even pick you up, and you'd usually be getting GOOD's and GREAT's over the PERFECT's and MARVELOUS's. Not a fun time, since I was stuck with it for a week on a cruise ship. (I was sad because they usually have a Pump It Up machine on the Royal Caribbean cruises)
I probably won't get a chance to play on a Japanese X2 dedicab or even an X3. Ohio's BEMANI community isn't too strong it seems (they only care about ITG). And the arcade I usually go to hates the DDR players and refuses to consider getting a Technika 2 or letting my friend hack the SuperNOVA with ITG. :< Oh well~

i haven't played on X japanese dedicabs, because its way too expensive to get one here. But, i play on western X cabinet. I think i'm lucky, because i don't have any pad issue.
-
We got some pads broken, but we got forced to bring them from Japan - looks like parts are exchangeable xD

The Japanese Dedicabs are just okay, except we need to raise the pads a little to increase the sensitivity.
We have 2 Japanese DDR X dedicab here in Indonesia (they are second handed i believe)
The betson's X2 design is awful, but it's better than have no DDR X2 machine to play with...

If it's as unplayable as the Betson X2's, I'd rather have no machine at all. Those things are literally unplayable.

The betson X2 is playable, but the timing is not as perfect as the japanese machine (hard to MA)
the bass is very weak and we need to get used with the existing screen lag.
PFC is not a problem if we already synced with the machine

Design can include anything involving shape and hardware.

Cab design is okay, just not as great as the Japan version.
Everything inside is crap though. No dedicated subwoofer is terrible.

Yeah if you've played on an old style cabinet such as SuperNOVA or SuperNOVA2 with the bass volume turned up and then go to a new cab, that sense of power on the bass is just not there.

"Care cup is empty! c[_]" |
X - X3 machines are... Non-existent in my part of the country!
But seriously, should I be thankful for the SN2 cab we got here? I'd really like to play the songs I've been playing on DDR II, along with finally trying WH1TE RO5E and Shining; but on the other hand, if it's as bad as you all say it is, is it worth one of our arcades getting an X2 cab of sorts?
