ATTN: Anyone with Panzer Force 5th mix

I'm having problems with Crack System. I opened it up after downloading the package but before opening Stepmania, used it to unlock some songs, and then went to go actually play SM. Upon going back to the program, it would crash before loading anything. It downloads whatever updates it needs only if I'm running it as an admin, otherwise I get an error message. Still doesn't fix anything, though. Anyone else having this problem/can tell me what's wrong?

I do know that it will likely take a long time to get the update files, as the BMS OF FIGHTERS 2011 updates and such have song videos that make the updates bigger.

As for getting it to work if you're getting the updates, it may be related to your non-Unicode settings, which are changeable in your Region settings in the Control Panel. I've never had issues with it working, but my non-Unicode settings are set to Japanese because of the number of doujin games and such that I play.

Unfortunately, changing non-Unicode settings didn't help.
The program crashes during the loading screen, where I get the generic "*.exe has stopped working" message. Dunno if that helps.

Did you put it on it's own normal 3.9? It says it may not work properly with third party versions like 3.9+ and Redux, and if it opened once before, then it's probably not reading your scores right.

I'm having a problem with PF5th myself. It says to press X while the Crack System is loading to unlock "Pure Boys", but I can't ever make that work for me.

What am I doing wrong?

You have to wait for it to finish loading, and then press X.

While I'm here, another question: How high does the Play Count have to be to unlock Pure Ruby?

For some reason, that still didn't work for me.

Never mind. Looks like I had to actually hit it MULTIPLE times, until it said "ULTRA EXTREME FEVER".

Pure Boys is unlocked by pressing X in the textbox that has the update log.

The Play Count has to be around 130 for Pure Ruby, as my brother vhan (who is on the Internet Ranking as well) has it, but hasn't played it yet.

Also, it'd be a good idea to play at least three different Panzer Force courses excluding Weekly Ranking and including the Hardcore course (180 RP + taqumi ID/PW input).

Another thing, if the song Sileighty fails to load a video, you need to delete its folder so it can reunlock the song and put the video there.

I, unfortunately, only was around for Another Vector and Hardening, and didn't think to back up either of them. Sorry. They're probably encrypted in the CSA files, but hell if I know how to go about viewing them properly.

I just noticed, for some reason, Stepmania won't load Polanopus as part of PF5th. It's in the directory, so I'm not sure why it won't...

Again, never mind. Got it in there, now.

Looking at the unlock conditions for New Anachronism:
-Dream Side: Have a total score of ?? trillion. (Please, PLEASE tell me that's a mistranslation; I only just broke 5.6 billion.)
-Real Side: Get ?? Rank Points on a certain song. (Assuming Dream Side?)

Another question: I cleared the Launen course a while back, but it didn't go to the internet ranking, nor was it recognized on Crack System. What could have happened?

New Anachronism's unlock condition is having somewhere around maybe 11-12 trillion total score (I got the song at around 950 RP, and only 7 people have played the song). To get Real Side, 15 RP from Dream Side (3 AAs) is enough, but 10 might not be.
Also, don't forget that playing harder songs (up to 10's) allows for a higher score cap, and many of the Extra Stage songs are over-rated.

Most importantly though, is playing songs on many different difficulties (Doubles and Solo charts count too).


As for the course problem, it apparently happens at times (mostly with the Weekly Ranking). The best thing to do would be to try again, and make sure you're not using any weird mods or anything.

The only mods I use for courses are speed mods. Speaking of which, my scores for Step 1, Upperbeat and Stoic Sounds all vanished from Stepmania, and as a result from Crack System. S1 and SS are both on the internet ranking; if I were to send an update before re-clearing them, would my scores disappear?

It would get rid of your scores in that case, as it would submit scores and lack of scores.

By the way, do you have a profile created? I've never lost scores for courses before, I've just had Weekly Ranking records fail to be picked up and the very rare case of the Crack System failing to send all of the records to the Internet Ranking.

What exactly does pressing A or J in the Crack System window do?

They both display messages, but I have no idea what they are.

I'll go check.

EDIT: Um... the J message means "Jimmy Lightning "Crazy!!"", and I'm not sure what the A message means, but it's nothing significant.

While playing Solo earlier, I unlocked Extra Stage from 物怪舞踏 ... and then SM locked up after leaving the result screen. That would just be a case of it trying to load what's in extra1.crs and failing, right? (I turned off AutoGen some time before playing.)
