Hey everyone, I'm looking for a decent soft pad to play DDR II on while I'm living at school. Anybody know of reliable brands? I haven't bought a pad in ages and none of the ones I remember seem to exist anymore Tongue. I've tried the cheap eBay pads before too and they never really worked well at all.

Has anyone tried these? http://www.ddrgame.com/wiipads.html They seem pricey...but I'd be willing to pay 60-80 bucks for something that would last me a year-ish

(Sorry in advance if this is in the wrong place or if this kind of thread gets posted all the time)

I don't know about you, but the pad that came with the DDR2010 bundle was ok.

Thanks for the reply. I did order the bundle version of DDR II so we'll see how that goes. I do have a cobalt flux sitting around in my basement at home too, so maybe I'll get off my butt and clean it over winter break. Wish the control boxes didnt cost as much as buying a new pad lol

Has anyone tried the MadCatz pad? (http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Dance-Pad-GameCube/dp/B0012Q7IBA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1318452579&sr=8-5)

The reviews are useless because they're written by idiots who are like "I bought a game and the seller didn't tell me it didn't come with the pad" or "I bought the pad and I'm mad bro cuz the pad didn't come with the game"

(The tidbit about the MadCatz pad not working with Walk It Out is good to know though)

At $30 for a Konami pad and $40 for a DDR 2010 bundle, that's a little too steep for me for the time being.

I heard Mad Catz was bad at everything.

My experience: I have a GB controller that, when I plug in the Mad Catz controller, it shuts down the system. Totally pissed me off when I was saving and I felt like plugging it in for 2 players

If you can find a RedOctane Ignition 5.0 on ebay, I would recommend that. I've had mine for a while and it works pretty well.

I've had good results using the foam inserts from an old ignition pad as a platform for which I place the standard Wii Konami dance pad on top. Depending on the surface you play on, this should provide reasonable stability for the matt (i.e., little slippage or sliding) and be easier on your bare feet.
