Konami has probably figured out Kinect homebrew.

Wasn't Dance Evolution the top selling Kinect game in Japan? So I guess this makes a little more sense.

It was, but the Kinect sold poorly (as expected) in Japan so those sales didn't amount to a whole lot. It did get a lot of attention and even won an award from Microsoft Japan for Best Kinect Title though.

Where's Night of Fire, or the KOs with Para Para routines? Was Dance Evolution even made with Para Para in mind?

Keep in mind this is only a location test and that songlist isn't necessarily the full location test list. I'm fairly certain I saw the La receta CD art in one of the advertisements.

Yuck. Hopefully this version will at least work better then the 360 version, which in my experience, had problems detecting the correct movements in the lower part of the body.

The fact that it's called "DANCE EVOLUTION ARCADE" makes it sound like it's actually just a port so people can play it without needing to buy a Kinect.

Kinda like GH ARCADE.

Looks like that cabinet is somewhat based on the Drummania design. Its kind of hard to tell if it has the shelves on the side, but the front has the controller/control panel and there are speaker boxes on the side of the cabinet. Its would be nice to see a actual picture of the cabinet though.

The cabinet really reminds me of a print club cabinet. Definitely trying to advertise this game to girls.

Well, the Kinect IS an over-complicated camera...

Imagine the applications... Three-dimensional images of someone cosplaying while dancing. Yeah, this is going to be most elaborate photo booth in Japan. For at LEAST the next year or so.

So, I was wondering, because no one has made any mention of it and I can't find any information about it, is this game using Kinect hardware in the cabinet design or are they using some sort of proprietary camera system? If it's actually using Kinect for the imaging system I wonder how it's going to fair in an arcade/game center setting with many people running around in the background and such.
Wouldn't it be the first use for Kinect in an arcade/game center game?

I've seen Kinect work properly at a large retail store, just with a warning to not interrupt players. Maybe a curtain behind the players so as to not muck up the sensors?

well this might give ParaPara a 5th boom that Avex is hoping for....

but if someone walks behind the machine wont it detect them?? i can imagine if this came to the western market which i am sure it will much like parapara..... and also space for the dances may also mean this will have a large stage, i wonder how well this will actually work, the dances would have to be quite easy to become a big thing, i dont imagine seeing people actually learning some of the dances that were on the kinnect, as some were pretty hard. if its too hard people will not even give it a 2nd glance, although i am eager to see it just to do the parapara that may be on there

if i know correcly, kinect does not take disbturbance from other people, unless they walk in fromt of the camera of course.

I wouldn't base quesses about the songlist on the images, look at the site's screenshot which shows completely different image for A Geishas Dream
