A couple friends and I have recently dipped into Terraria, this awesome game that plays like a 2D reimagining of Minecraft - but with quite a bit more focus on combat. People are already building mods and reskins for it too, and while a bit daunting to begin with, grinding for gear and all; it's a pretty outrageously fun game.
So far, I'm at the Silver/Gold gear point, on the lookout for super-rare Demonite Ore; and debating between tackling a few areas; LavaLand to the south of me, the Underground Jungle to the west, or the Dungeon to my east. They're all pretty brutal, actually. And I'm playing on Mediumcore, so losing REALLY FREAKING HURTS! (I use a Softcore alt as a netplay client though; my Mediumcore character being slayed resulted in a server crash; which insta-lost all of my stuff. Crashing their computer wasn't fun for them, either.)
