This has been on my mind for a while. I think it would be decent concept. I guess they could revive the Hottest Party characters if they don't come back on DDR II and it could connect with DDR games for the newer version of the Wii in the future if possible, like songs and data that can be shared.

It wouldn't work too well. The DS touch screen sucks if you don't use a stylus, and the buttons are placed so that the traditional controller position is unwieldy. It's an interesting concept, but it wouldn't be much more usable than the DDR games for the Gameboy Color.
