"It's pronounced See-OH-Zee" |

Source from IGN
Just heard about it in the CNN news this morning during my volunteering at a local hospital.
Sorry, but a monthly fee (which isn't confirmed yet by Activision) plus an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription and $60 for a new game is bullshit. The only benefit that I'm going to have is do a private beta, then rage quit once the beta is finished.
Do you think the team went way too far with the subscription fees despite adding dedicated servers?

Read about it on peoples' Facebook statuses and whatnot. Yeah it's pretty bullshit.

The unconfirmed part is the monthly fees obviously.

If it happens it's BS from Activision's part. They already shut down True Crime, Tony Hawk's and the Hero games. I'd think they have enough money considering all they're doing is throwing out the same game from 2006 with slightly nicer graphics.

The fees don't matter. It won't change a damn thing.
Kids usually just get their parents to pay for this kind of thing, so the servers will still be full of assholes, little kids, and cheaters.

9/2/11 Update: Saw the XP event on the livestream, so here are the details about CoD Elite.
Elite is free from the get-go. However, the player may wish to buy a year membership to go premium for these benefits.
* DLC can be acquired at no charge.
* Can take part in daily competition for prizes.
* You can level up your clan.
* Pro analysis and strategy is provided.
* Elite TV.
* Bigger video uploads to YouTube, with 720p quality.
Going Premium for a year is $50, and players who preorder the Hardened Edition can get a voucher for the premium membership (costs $99.99). Dunno about UK yet.
Final note: Even if the premium membership expires, you can still keep the DLC you've acquired.
Fair enough given this is Activision's final stand, though who cares?

I do know some people that play MW enough that they would get this. It sounds like an ok deal if your really hardcore about COD. The only 3 issues I have are.
1. If they crap on the PS3 servers (hi Black Ops) then that was $50 well spent.
Not only that Free DLC would be cool if the PS3 did not get them 2 months later.
2. 360 is already paying $60 a year for online, now it's an extra $50 for this?
3. Battlefield 3 is getting all of this FREE.
Also they are making a limited edition XBOX 360 for the game #360fanboyOMG.

As I mentioned, playing the game (aside from Xbox LIVE & ISP fees, along with buying the game) doesn't require additional funds. The features on the 7th post is premium features. You can still play online without paying $50 a year.

I haven't heard much about the social features in Battlefield 3 yet even though I have every confidence that DICE would best IW/Sledgehammer.

I know you guys probably don't care but some sites are doing some cover relay on MW3 and some people from Machinima including Seananners, Hutch, and Sark have already played some of the game and posted some gameplay of it.
Also some bonus info on some things that are going to come back to the game...
Old Weapons:
UMP45
Barret .50Cal
Dragunov Like they haven't already put that in MW2
Javelin
Old Perks:
Overkill About damn time
Extreme Conditioning
Steady Aim
Scavenger
Sleight Of Hand
Hardline
Now here is some of the stuff that is new...
New Guns and attachments:
Shotgun Range Finder (They are like the Aiming rounds for the shotguns in BF:BC2 except in MW3)
PP90M1
A550
CM901
I might find more later but basically look at some of the stuff in videos. They are pouring in right now as I post.

Machinima and the official CoD channel upped their multiplayer trailer. Here's the Machinima one.

Actually when you look at it, the premium service isn't that bad considering you get the DLC for free. Using Black Ops as an example, they released 4 map packs priced at relatively 15 USD bringing the total cost to 60 dollars if you were crazy enough to buy them all. So you would actually save money if they did something similar again.
Although considering there are quite a few other games coming out around the same time that I also want (Revelations, Revelations, Revelations...), I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be buying the game.

^ You're also getting Revelations too?
*HIGH FIVE*
As for the service, eeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh...Free DLC is good (ESPECIALLY AT THAT DAMN PRICE FOR ALL DLC) but the other added bonuses don't..."get" me, you know? I used to be pretty FPS-happy back in the day but now it's just grown to be an "overused" fad since everyone (babies, kids, teens, young adults) is doing it.
And i feel bad for the Xbox Live people who are actually going to go through with this....another bill to be added alongside their subscription fee (Even if they got the Hardened Edition). I can also see this being used in next generation CoD games too, will there be a price drop in the future? Possibly...i doubt it would happen until MW3 becomes stale and everyone is getting hyped for Black Ops 2.

According to people I know working in games stores, Elite is just not selling here. They had hundreds of people at one midnight launch, and only two of them bought Elite. You'd think that the people who bother to wait outside a Gamestation until midnight were the hardcore lot, right? So they'd be the people most likely to get Elite.
But then again, what do I know? I can't help but think that for the whole "closing down three franchises and a game that was release-ready because it wouldn't make as much money" thing they did this year, you'd expect MW3 to be more than a £40 map pack.

Also ahaha oh wow the User Score.

I have also heard that a lot of people are suffering the Red Ring of Death on the 360 when they put this game in. Didn't L.a. Noire have the same thing?

I've been hearing that the Xbox 360 may not recognize some MW3 discs, based on what I've seen on the Xbox Forums.

No, they'll most likely keep more CoD games coming. Treyarch is apparently working on one as is, unless that was the Wii version of MW3. Activision doesn't know when to let go of something.
