Because the only arcade that had the X2 machine shut down, the only way I could see the Challenge step chart was through Stepmania. I just want to say this, KONAMI IS OUT FOR BLOOD!! If that is what they call a 19 then I DON'T want to know what a 20 will be.

I like where this thread is going already.

Post: I would like to see how far they would go with a 20.

That will be interesting, I wonder how many people are going to end up in the hospital doing that 20 foot song.

Great first thread bro :v

My opinion: This is your 19 people, the players wanted one, this is what we get. Congrats everyone.

BUT THANK GOD IT HAS NO SHOCK ARROWS. Because if VD Challenge had them, then the chart would make DEGRS look like MAX300 on Basic/Light....actually, even without the shock arrows the Challenge chart makes DEGRS look like a walk in the park.

As for a 20?

I don't want to say because then there would be an argument over what a 20 should qualify as and the such, all i know is that it would require someone at Konami HQ to get high off their ass and throw every possible gimmick, arrow pattern, step lentgh, etc. into a 1:30 song.

AND IT MUST HAVE OVER 1570 STEPS (you can almost guess what number it should stop at ;P).

I say X2 pulls off Burger King code and makes the cab have Xmix6 with all RDA songs on Challenge in there.

To be honest with you, I think the chart is kinda messed up. It's not the best chart overall but it is a good start for a first 19. I can't really say much on it but if expert players want to give this a go, then they need to consider about how they play because otherwise seriously they could injure themselves. I doubt what I said that but that's my view.

For a 20 foot I think it would be a shock arrow chart for a 18 foot expert chart or 19 (well unlikely). I'm not sure if they're going to head for that direction in the next game.
Whether you like it or not I am still here.

Did you copy that off of the X2 thread?
I saw someone say those exact words...

Aegis, no, I type that up myself, either the guy in the other thread must of copy and pasted mine, or as the saying goes, "Great minds think alike." Anyways for any song that is doable a pad in a released game I've seen, the highest arrow count was 940 which was Hasse Mich from ITG. So, I just gonna say this about the 20 foot song. It's most probably have over 1000 arrows in it step chart, unless Konami has a song that doesn't need that many arrows but sure as heck is a 20.

It wouldn't be that horrifying (though still rediculously hard) if it didn't have the 480BPM death stream near the beginning where the freeze arrow used to be. They could've made a sensible 19. Don't be so quick to say "you folks wanted a 19? This is what you got folks! I wass right!"

It could've been done.
Though I don't think I really want a 20 anymore.

I was just to say that Viper, that one part is basically a 960 BPM 4th note stream of death, no human I know can read that fast. I betting the 20 foot song will hit 500 BPM or striaght to 600 BPM like they did with MAX. Period, I just see it happening.

I think that if they threw a couple crossovers in a song similar to FAXX and bumped it up to 420BPM (with a fair amount of rest sections), they would've had a fairly decent 19 footer. Maybe even a decent 20 footer.

They don't need to have something of extreme shock value or somehting with very radical BPM changes.

I guess Konami was able to quickly hire up the people who used to do GH charts, huh?

I think Konami wanted to give us a Vertex^2 type song in DDR.

"The eurobeat journeyman!"
I think the chart is grossly over-difficult, and the speed-up near the beginning is the hardest section of any DDR song ever. Even harder than the end of Pluto Relinquish.

The Challenge chart is interesting. It doesn't seem like I'll be playing that until I get a lot better, but it did remind me of some of the other 18-footer charts. The random end jump reminds me of PARANOiA ~Hades~, the random tell jumps remind me of NGO, and there are probably random elements that remind me of DEGRS. It's pulling all of this stuff together to be the next step in difficulty.

That first speedup is really funny though.

The 20 footer is going to be in a 573 bpm song with 24th streams and some shock arrows and will last an amazing 3 minutes.
